Hello, I purchased this Land Cruiser in February of 2015 with 161k miles on the clock. Since then I've enjoyed taking care of this truck and giving it a good refresh. The mileage is currently at 179,796. Over the past two years I've done the following maintenance/base line work. This truck has spent it's life in New Mexico and Texas. Very minor rust pitting is occurring at a few spots at the surface of the original paint. Nothing that can't be sanded out and resprayed. For a Land Cruiser, I consider this one rust free. One minor dent on rear quarter panel (see photo). Interior is pretty clean other than the usual driver seat tear. Dash is cracked. This truck has been my daily driver and runs very well. It's a LandCruiser. Here are all of the parts that have been replaced during my ownership: -New Gear Oil in the Transmission/Transfer Case/Front/Rear Differentials-Oil Pan Gasket (OEM)-Transmission Pan Gasket (OEM)-Timing Cover Gasket (OEM)-Front Crank Seal (OEM)-New Radiator (CSF 2708)-Cap and Rotor (OEM)-Spark plugs (OEM)-Plug wires (OEM)-Fuel Filter (OEM)-Fan clutch (AISIN)-New Radiator hoses (OEM)-Water Pump (AISIN)-Thermostat (OEM)-Thermostat Housing Gasket (OEM)-Valve Cover Gasket (OEM)-PCV Valve/Grommet (OEM)-All Vacuum Lines (OEM)-Intake/Exhaust Manifold Gaskets (OEM)-Brake Master Cylinder (AISIN)-Brake Lines (OEM)-Brake Pads/Shoes-Brake Wheel Cylinders - Rear (Advics/AISIN)-New OEM Shocks-OME Steering Stabilizer-Knuckle Rebuild Kit (Marlin Crawler/Yukon Seals and Bearings)-Japanese 555 Tie Rod End Kit-Air Flow Meter Refurbished by Bavarian Restoration Things That Do Not Work: 1.) Stock Radio works but the scan button is the only way to get thru the stations. 2.) Stock Antenna is functional but power up and down does not work. 3.) A/C currently does not blow cold. I've had compressor rebuilt and converted to R134. I have purchased the following parts to completely overhaul A/C system. After a 6 month wait, I finally received the Denso condenser from Japan (very hard to find part). I will have a/c working prior to sale. HVACAC Compressor Rebuilt (Converted to R134)-New Blower Motor (VDO/Siemens)-Condenser (Denso)-Expansion Valve (Denso)-Evaporator Core (Denso)-Reciever/Drier (Denso)-Pressure Switch-Blower Motor Resistor 4.) I recently have drained the fluids and put new FULL synthetic oil along with a new oil filter, are filter, fuel filter and new spark plugs and wires. She starts right up and runs great. This is a very unique F40 and you will not find this type with the vents on the top and also the one rear swing door!!' How cool are those two items . Interior looks as nice as outside, with new upholstery on front and rear seats. She has Power Steering and AC can be added. Tires are in great condition, but I would put some 31 BF Goodrich on this beauty to make her factory wheels stand out. She has the original Toyota John Deere Green color code which you don't see every day. Have you seen one? The vehicle is in my opinion good it just needs a little tlc. It was used as the every day vehicle a couple years back but has been put up in storage sense. It starts up first crack. There are 2 tears in the seats on on the driver and one on the back seat. The overall condition of the vehicle is fair. The door jambs have not been painted the trim has been taken off and is inside the vehicle. And there is one dent on the passenger side. Also the windshield wiper nuts have gone missing. Also there seems to be an issue with the wiring on the battery terminal it doesn't crank sometimes then cranks as soon as I wiggle the wires a bit. Not a big deal easy fix Im just lazy. 1970 TOYOTA FJ 40 LAND CRUISER Toyota Land Cruiser prices have been appreciating quickly over the last few years. So much so that full restoration examples are bringing $30,000-$40,000. Don't think this FJ isn't worth the investment because it is and is probably one of the more solid examples available for sale. Just add a coat of paint and you'd be right in that realm. We were able to procure this example from California and are able to offer it at an extremely reasonable price. This 1970 FJ is extremely solid and honest example of an FJ with a little added horses under the hood. This FJ 40 is a California barn find Hot Rod powered by a Ford FE 390 motor adapted to the FJ original 3 speed manual transmission. It is some what of a sleeper due to its exterior stock appearance. The FJ runs and drives very well and does not over heat even in 100 degree weather or in bumper to bumper traffic. It is completely roadworthy as she sits right now down to the brand new BFG's on her. We have had her out all around town and not only is she a head turner she is a blast to drive. She is ready to conquer any terrain and has plenty of torque to master any trail or hill in her way. This would make a great trail or huning vehicle just the way it sits. I can not stress enough how reliable and drivable this FJ 40 is. Although not a freshly restored FJ, she does have quite a few fresher items and what really makes her stand out from the crowd are her nice body panels. This FJ 40 has a straight body and very nice hard top, rust free doors, and solid floors. I am impressed with the overall condition of this FJ and how well the doors and rear barn doors operate and fit. You will notice on the passenger door where the paint chipped off it looks like rust but its only surface and the door is solid just like the driver's side. The padded dash does have some cracks in it but overall the interior is really a gem. Take a look at the photographs and let us know if you have any questions. The front drive works as does the transfer case which make it idea for off-road use with the added torque of the 390 motor. Also the heater works really job!
