I bought this gem in August of 2015 and it's been a great vehicle to have. I've re-upholstered the front seat bottoms and added an LED light bar, the updated audio deck is a JVC CD/DVD with iPod compatability. I upgraded the speakers to Alpine units in the doors. The license-plate frame rear-view camera displays on it as well. I've done regular maintenance with synthetic oil and it burns maybe 1 quart every 1,500 miles. I had the differential fluid replaced last year. There is a brush guard in the front and running boards on the sides. It comes with an additional set of mud & snow tires mounted on Toyota wheels. I bought a set of third row seats which haven't been re-upholstered, but they come with it as well.

This is an amazing find! An all original 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser Model FJ40. The current owner has owned this vehicle since 1975! This land cruiser has original paint and has not been modified. The six cylinder OHV engine has only 56,000 original miles. The carb is also original and when started the vehicle runs very smooth. This model has the original 60/40 split front seats and the drop down bench seats in the back. All seat mechanisms are working well. The upholstery is torn in several replaces. The top is intact but the headliner has been torn out and needs replacement when the interior is redone. The three on the tree shift works well in forward and reverse. All tires have a lot of tread left on them including the spare. The rear tires have the original hubcaps, the front tires are missing the hubcaps. The tires hold air well. All if the dash is complete and as far as we know working except the temp gauge which was removed and an aftermarket gauge installed with much better detail. We have a very complete list of all the tested systems on the vehicle available on request. We tested everything we could find and recorded it's working condition-to many to list here. If you're looking at this ad then you're like me, love older Land Cruisers! This really is the nicest one I think Ive ever had, dream to drive, loaded for bear, all original, and everything works. I must admit, I haven't had it that long, bought it because it was in such outstanding condition and not one that had been restored, just well cared for. My problem is I'm trying to get a garage/shop built at my new house and am running low on funds so, dang it, she's up for sale if the price is right. Aside form me telling you how it's all original, including paint (though it does have touch ups all around just not a repaint covering rust, bond, etc.), seats, floor mats, tools, jack, and more. I think the only things non original are the lights on the Confer Roof Rack, radio which is a am/fm/cd, and the 31" BF Goodrich Mud Terrain Tires which have got less then 500 miles on them, and the wheel well flares. Own this rare 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 Diesel, which was recently imported from Costa Rica. The vehicle was purchased from a mechanic in Costa Rica. This BJ40 is in original condition and has been well taken care of over the years. All the import paperwork has been completed and we have a clear Oregon title. The headache of importing is done - you do not have to wait 4 - 6 weeks for overseas delivery. The 4 speed - 3.0L diesel motor is known to be almost bullet proof and averages close to 30 mpg. The motor is in great condition, with only 60,000 original miles - see pictures and listen to it purr in the video. The vehicle has been mechanically reviewed from top to bottom by our mechanic who specializes in Toyota Land Cruisers. The interior has been updated with new seat-covers on both front and back seats, new seat belts, new original headliner, new door panels, new rubber door seals, and the floor was rhino-lined. The speedometer and oil pressure gages function well, but the gas and temp are not working. On the exterior, we installed new tires, shocks and added power-steering.
