I won't say you'll never see a 35 year old Toyota in such clean, plain, original, un molested condition as this one, but I will say they are extremely hard to find. especially on the east coast. besides the obvious bolt on accessories I put on this car, it is stock. I am the third owner of this car. it has never been in any accidents and no bodywork (filling,pulling, etc.) has been done to it. the previous owner bought it used from original owner in 1981. this car runs, stops, and drives flawlessly. the four speed manual transmission shifts nice and smooth. the 1.2 liter engine performs like it was new. the manual choke still works on this car and the automatic choke return still functions as it should. electrically, everything works as it should on the car. i still get 34-38mpg with this car. I have and would drive it anywhere. no shakes, rattles, squeaks, smoke, grinding, rotational noise, or anything else that would be out of the ordinary. it has 38,942 original miles. I bought it with 24,500 miles. i know for a fact it has been garage kept since 1981. in the 9 years I have owned it, I have done everything I could to preserve the originality of this unrestored car. nothing on this car has been adapted, cut, spliced, drilled, or modified. i do however have the heater core disconnected so the blower will not blow any heat. i did this because i had the radiator re-cored and it was in such poor shape, i could only assume the heater core was too. i feared i would crack or damage the perfect dash pad in the car trying to remove the heater core. i only use the car in the summer so it wouldn't bother me. it wasn't leaking when i did this, but if you plan on hooking it back up, you should replace the heater core for peace of mind. there is no rot anywhere on this car. the undercarriage has typical surface rust on the leaf springs and the differential. the original paint on the car is very reflective and smooth. no dull spots or signs of wear. the previous owner had both front fenders replaced in the early 90's due to rust, and the paint on them doesn't perfectly match the rest of the car. the car does have some very minor door dings, and a couple of very light scratches. neither of them show in pics. all of the exterior brightwork is in new to almost new condition. it really shines nicely. the weatherstripping on the doors and all windows is in good still soft condition. no water leaks in anywhere on car, or any excessive wind noise while driving. the trunk gasket has cracks in it, but water does not leak in past it. the interior is in unbelievable condition. it came factory without a radio, so it has a removable delete plate where it goes. it also came factory with a vinyl floor. no carpets. the vinyl floor is in beautiful shape, free from any wear or tears. the dash pad is perfect. the gauges work as they should with no bouncing needles or fluctuation. the vinyl headliner has a couple of spots where the glue is wearing down. it is by no means "hanging down". the spots just look like air bubbles. it has been like this since before i have owned it and it has not gotten any worse. all of the interior trim is in perfect unfaded, undamaged condition. all the interior panels are also in perfect condition. the drivers seat has a small 1/2" tear on the side of the seat bottom. again, its been like that since before i have owned it and it has not gotten any worse. the passenger seat and back seat top and bottom are in perfect condition. all glass on car is original and crystal clear. no fogging or cracks. i always kept a record for maintenance on this car, i did a lot. and a lot of it was its firsts. that's why i have kept almost all the original parts i have ever removed from this car right down to the original asbestos brake pads and the still working, factory original IKI headlights.. the ones i don't have are the original front strut inserts, and all 5 bias ply tires. the tires were really shot when i bought the car. i was amazed to see they were still on it. the car will be sold with the original steering wheel, USDM black bumpers, original shift knob, original steel wheels with new white wall tires, 2 extra brand new front fenders, all original parts that were changed, original window sticker, bill of sale, key tag, owners manual, and the rest of the papers the dealer normally gave out in 1979 when you bought a car. the car currently has triple chrome plated JDM Toyota bumpers with Toyota brackets and lights, it also has a mahogany steering wheel, shift knob, door pulls, and oh sh*t handles, and highly polished ae86 alloy wheels with newer tires. 215/50-13 in rear and 185/60-13 in front. if you don't want these parts and you want the car put back to stock look, I can do that and the price will be lower.
