It comes with an extra fender for the front, an extra mirror, extra tail lights, and an all purpose belt. It works and drives just fine. All maintenance has been kept up with. The only problems are the passenger side window doesn't roll down and when you pop the trunk you have to hold it up yourself. It also has some paint chipping and a spot where some paint is missing but the interior is great. Serious buyers only please

Early Z-cars, the Toyota 2000GT, and the Honda S600 are all seeing a resurgence in interest as the guys who enjoyed them as kids now have a chance to buy back their childhood. And this 1978 Toyota Celica is no exception, a spectacular 17,704 original mile car that offers wonderful driving dynamics and a handsome look that will bring back memories. And that's really what this hobby is all about: memories. Many of you probably remember cars like this being ubiquitous on US roads, but when was the last time you saw one? Wait, scratch that. When was the last time you saw one that wasn't rusted to oblivion? This one has been recently repainted, since the original '70s gold paint color wasn't exactly setting the world on fire, and we have to agree that the bright yellow finish suits the sporty Celica just fine. The bodywork is shockingly straight and clean and thanks to the low mileage, all the totally unobtainable parts are still in place and in excellent condition. Build quality is typical Toyota with nice gaps and neat trim and this car doesn't look almost 40 years old, does it? The styling has really held up well! The big black rubber bumpers don't look as awkward on this car as on so many of its contemporaries (I'm looking at you Mercedes 450SL) and the rear window slats are a performance look that practically defined the 1970s. Yeah, it's safe to say that we dig this car. The tan bucket seat interior is totally original, which, given the mileage, shouldn't be surprising to anyone. What is surprising is how modern it feels from behind the wheel, with supportive seats, a great driving position, and a slick-shifting 4-speed manual gearbox. The carpets are a little dirty and the horn button is missing, but the list of faults in this car is notably short. We love the little metal cages on the A/C vents, the bright, crisp instruments that look suspiciously like those in a 1970 Camaro, and the very 1970s compartmentalization of all the controls like the set of some sci-fi show. This one is equipped with factory A/C, which was surely incredibly rare in 1978, although it does need a recharge today. The back seat is well-contoured for two and really uncomfortable for three and under the hatch there's a huge storage area that offers nice carpets and a tie-down strap for your cargo. The 1600 cc inline-four isn't going to win many drag races, but it feels energetic and eager, moving the lightweight Celica with ease. Typical of Toyota, it's really packed in there, but thanks to its bulletproof reliability and low mileage, you won't need to spend a ton of time under here. It's quite stock, from the air cleaner assembly to the hose clamps to the decals in their proper places and its low mileage status is apparent everywhere you look. The 4-speed is a slick shifter and yes, this Celica is rear-wheel drive, making it a very entertaining handler on twisty roads. It's quite clean underneath with no issues and plenty of originality and the single exhaust system gives it just the right 4-cylinder buzz to match its look. Fresh Minilite-style wheels have been fitted, and they're exactly the right choice, especially with modern 14-inch Goodyear radials wrapped around them. Go ahead, try to find a nicer one. And don't laugh, because Japanese cars are the next big thing. No, this one won't make you rich overnight, but we'll wager that there will always be a line of guys eagerly waiting to own this Celica. 2000 Toyota Celica GT-S manual with 98000 chassis miles/58,000 engine miles up for sale. This car is in good to very good condition, although it has a rebuilt title. It is currently on its third owner in its 14 year life. The motor was replaced at 85k miles with a 45k motor that came with a 2 year warranty which has since expired; all mechanical parts have worked great since the motor was replaced. I purchased the car in 2006 with ~60k miles on it, and as a car enthusiast I have babied it ever since and done regular preventative maintenance. The car has a few modifications on it that will be explained in detail later. The visual modifications improve the look of the car while the performance modifications are slight, so it can very easily be driven by anyone and works as a great daily driver. Its hatchback configuration results in more cargo volume than nearly all sedans. Detailed description of the car Engine/Mechanical: As mentioned before the motor was replaced with a used, probably JDM market motor which now has about 58k miles total on it (documentation available). The engine is still under warranty although that warranty will not transfer. However, it does offer piece of mind to the buyer that there are no hidden defects or issues with the engine. If there were, I would be able to fix them for free as the warranty holder. The motor was not rebuilt, so it’s in factory fresh condition. A new Southbend clutch was installed at the same time so there is still plenty of life left in it. VVTL (lift) is working great and the bolts have been replaced with the recommended ones by Toyota’s technical service bulletin, putting it in a favorable condition compared to many other used Celicas on the market. The transmission doesn’t exhibit any synchro grinding at all, which again is more than most other Celicas can offer. Transmission oil was replaced when the new engine was dropped in. The engine has an Ingen cold air intake and a custom Magnaflow exhaust which has the same noise levels of the stock unit at cruising/normal driving RPMs but gives the car a very throaty noise at higher RPMs. A new battery was installed in June of 2012 so it’s still quite fresh. The engine has only had synthetic oils in it. The car has a rebuilt title however there is no frame damage, I have no knowledge of the incident that led to this title as it happened before I purchased the car and hasn’t yielded any meaningful impact on the cars reliability or performance. Exterior: The car has a front and rear authentic Kaminari bumper and authentic TopShop sideskirts which are all color matched to the car. It also sports HP Design 18” wheels in a matte gunmetal color. The car is equipped with HIDs and fog lights. The windows are tinted at 35% in the front and 20% in the rear and back; the tint is in great shape with no bubbles. The spoiler isn’t installed on the car but is still in my possession and will be included in the sale to the new owner. The car has a shortened radio antenna that still affords great reception. The front bumper has minor paint chips while the rear bumper has a small gouge in it. The defects cannot be seen from more than a couple of feet away. Interior: The car is equipped with a sunroof. It has black leather on all seats, although the bottom of the driver seat has a rip at the seams. The rip isn’t expanding and doesn’t affect comfort so the seat hasn’t been replaced. The stock radio is still working well, and includes an aftermarket audio line in system. The spare tire is still in the car. The instrument cluster has a TRD center tachometer conversion (switching the position of the tach and speedo) which resulted in the only real flaw in the interior department: the speedometer function on the instrument cluster no longer works (although the tach does). A used odometer can be purchased for less than 50 dollars if the buyer desires, and is very easy to install (I can perform the install for the buyer at their discretion). This will revert everything back to a stock configuration (and would result in both tach and speedo functions working) but would alter the vehicles original odometer reading to that of the used odometer (hence the reason I have not performed such a repair before the sale). HVAC: AC compressor was replaced about a year ago and blows strong and cold. However, the heater does not work as the heater core has a small leak. The coolant system bypasses the heater so the engine coolant isn’t affected. I have a heater core assembly that will be included in the sale of the vehicle and can be installed by the buyer to repair this functionality, so you would only have to pay for labor. This is an excellent car for a new driver, especially one who is interested in cars and would like to get to know how they work. The internet (specifically newcelica.org) has great resources and DIY instructions on the car, and parts are available for it at very low prices. A few minor cosmetic fix ups that can be performed by a novice will result in a great looking and reliable car that is also fun to drive.
