READ THIS! IT WILL PROBABLY ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS! This truck is in excellent condition. It just went through and passed the MD state inspection on January 5, 2017. It needed front brakes, a couple light bulbs, and a windshield to pass. All the maintenance has been done, including the head gasket (done under Toyota's recall) and the timing chain service. I have numerous receipts showing the maintenance history. The pictures of the truck tell the story. It is clean and nice, and everything works. It runs and drives exactly like it should. The clearcoat is peeling from the hood and roof which is pretty common on these trucks. There is a minor dent under the left tail light. And a small ding on the tailgate. Overall, this is the nicest old style Toyota pickup I've seen in a long time. Under the truck there is some light surface rust but nothing bad. It is obvious this truck was cared for. This truck is ready to drive, needs nothing. The tires are the only thing I was going to change. They have plenty of tread and passed inspection, but they are starting to show their age with weather checks between the treads. I found a set of wheels and tires on Discount Tire's site for $700 that I was going to get for it. That included mounting, balancing, and shipping. The stereo is aftermarket and is decent. It has a Bazooka bass tube behind the driver's seat. Sounds pretty good for an older system. I had a truck very similar to this back in the 90s and it really brought me back. I found this a couple weeks ago and bought it for my son who just got his license. The guy I bought it from has owned it since 1996. I'm now not sure this is the right vehicle for my son. I think he should drive an automatic and something with airbags. So before I put tags on it I figured I would sell it and start my search again. I've got some time because he needs to get his grades up a bit. If it doesn't sell I'm ok with keeping it. I'll just find him something else. The truck can be seen in La Plata, MD 20646. ***Please read everything before you ask questions or commit to buy. This truck is in excellent condition. It needs nothing. I'm only selling it because I'm taking over a truck lease for a family member to help them out of a tough time. I searched for a couple months trying to find this truck and I'm going to miss it. Hard to find with these options and the cap. The back seat area is huge. Plenty of legroom and the back seat moves forward and back so you can put stuff behind the seat. It also reclines. The bed has factory Toyota spray in bedliner. I used it for our bicycles. The front seats are heated and all the leather is in excellent condition. The rear window is power and rolls down, and also has a defroster. When you consider the book value on this truck and the extras included, this truck is a great deal. The cap cost over $2000 and is very nice. The lock works and the tailgate locks. Nice and secure. I added the AFE exhaust and it sounds great. I still have the stock exhaust in great condition if you want it. I also added the K&N air filter system. I still have the stock filter if you want it. The tires are Michelin Latitude Tour 275/60R20 and cost me a small fortune about 6000 miles ago. They really improved the ride quality. This truck rides like an upscale SUV. I have a Bully Dog Tuner for the truck. My goal was fuel mileage and it helps a little. The best I've seen is a little over 20 MPG. Average is 17 to 18 but depends on highway or city traffic. I'm not interested in horsepower or performance so I just used the economy tune. I can remove it if you don't want it. But it's not a harmful device. And it can be used for diagnostics and to display vehicle conditions like throttle position, MPG, RPM, and more. I don't have time for dreamers or tire kickers. If you are looking for a nice truck you have found it. Have your finances in order before you commit to buy please.
