1987 Toyota Tercel DX "Hatchback/ A/C / Low Miles 69k / Summary I purchased this vehicle from my co-workers mother about 2 years ago. She was the original owner she bought it back in 1987. The vehicle was yearly inspected because it was registered in Virginia. I loved driving this vehicle because the gas mileage is very nice. However it is a 3-rd vehicle so it needs to go. Overall The vehicle has the updated carburetor; turns right over, you have to just give light gas to turn over. Tires are slightly dry-rotted, small rust spot which can easily be repaired, the headliner is coming down, A/C blows cool (needs recharge), clear coat is coming off the hood, and one side is missing a rubber molding piece on the body. The auto-shifter feels a little loose but shifts into gear with out a problem. The vehicle was regularly serviced. For the vehicle being 28-years old it is in good shape, and has great miles. All of the speakers sound great. I have totally inspected the front-end components for play. All components are tight as they should be. Our cars are mechanically sound when they leave our dealership. We spend countless hours checking them over and repairing them. There is no shaking or vibrations while applying the brakes. The steering is firm and accurate. The car does not drift left or right. The wheel is centered while driving. There are no dull spots or anything out of the ordinary on the paint. The interior shows minimal wear. It is nice and smells good. it still has that original Toyota smell. the car was not smoked in. The odometer is correct and reads 87k miles. All of the controls are also in excellent working order with no looseness or play. All of the windows and sunroof work perfectly along with every single feature the car has. The car is in fine roadworthy condition. I have personally driven this car many times. It is definitley dependable and comfortable. The heat is very hot and the air conditioning is ice cold! The seats have heat and cooling features. The rims are aftermarket 20" wheel. They are not perfect (small scrapes pitting starting etc.) but they are nice overall. We are downsizing and selling our Camry - it's been very good to us in the last 2 years and would not hesitate to drive it to California and back. Perfect for commuting or a new driver. The paint is shiny - has the usual dings and scratches - the only rust is near the windshield - was sealed 2 year ago and doesn't leak (previous owner had a bike rack that somehow caused the area to rust). The interior is clean and a non smoker. Seats have a few marks from the years. All the power options including driver's seat work 100% - the a/c is very cold. Maryland State Inspected so it should pass anywhere - new exhaust from the catalytic converter back, 2 new front tires, new blower motor resistor (controls the fan speed), new power window motor. In the past 2 years I have replaced the timing belt/water pump/cam and crank seals, the air control valve, battery, valve cover gasket - if you know Camry's these are all very common repairs. This Camry starts, runs, shifts and stops exactly as it should. The 4 cylinder engine gets me 30mpg on the highway. No drips from the engine or transmission. Clean Maryland title.
