Own this rare 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 Diesel, which was recently imported from Costa Rica. The vehicle was purchased from a mechanic in Costa Rica. This BJ40 is in original condition and has been well taken care of over the years. All the import paperwork has been completed and we have a clear Oregon title. The headache of importing is done - you do not have to wait 4 - 6 weeks for overseas delivery. The 4 speed - 3.0L diesel motor is known to be almost bullet proof and averages close to 30 mpg. The motor is in great condition, with only 60,000 original miles - see pictures and listen to it purr in the video. The vehicle has been mechanically reviewed from top to bottom by our mechanic who specializes in Toyota Land Cruisers. The interior has been updated with new seat-covers on both front and back seats, new seat belts, new original headliner, new door panels, new rubber door seals, and the floor was rhino-lined. The speedometer and oil pressure gages function well, but the gas and temp are not working. On the exterior, we installed new tires, shocks and added power-steering. The vehicle drives straight and has great power - see video. The body is clean and in great condition, there are some minor surface rust spots on the rear corner panel. The floor panel is solid and in good condition - some minor rust in the front under the driver side floor mat. The paint looks good and was recently done.
