The good This 4 runner comes with: moon roof, roof rack, hood scoop, tow package, power windows & mirrors on top of all the standard features. The A/C blows cold and the heater heats up fast. Engine and transmission are sound with no issues. The majority, probably 75%, of the miles are freeway miles. The 4 wheel drive works perfectly. The all-season tires have about 50% life still on them. All the glass is good with no chips or cracks, wiper blades are new, cloth interior has no rips or tears. This has clean title in hand. The Bad There are a couple minor issues with this truck. The ignition sticks and is sometimes difficult to turn over. There is a trick which I will show you, but you will probably want to look into having it fixed. If you are mechanically inclined, you can replace it yourself for under $100, or if you are really good, I've looked at a couple You Tube video’s on how you can fix it for free. The check engine light comes on at random intervals. There are no noticeable changes or issues, just some small glitch that causes it to come on and go off. We have taken it in for this, spent hundreds of dollars to have things replaced, only to have it happen again later. I was told by some people, including an employee of Toyota, that this is a common occurrence with these older models and is often something as simple as not tightening the gas cap enough. The Ugly While we have done our best to take great care of this truck, the kids have also grown up with it so there are some stains on the seats. I did not get a chance to clean out the truck really well before taking these pictures, but even then you can see it is not very bad, but the dirt and stains are there. The clear-coat on the hood is peeling up in a few places, as pictured. Again, not a big deal, but worthy of mentioning. I was told this could be simply buffed off where you wouldn't notice, but It hasn't bothered us enough to worry about fixing. There are a few minor scuffs and dings around the body as one would expect from a 13 year old vehicle, but there are no major dents or deep scratches. This 4 Runner has been an amazing vehicle, with no major issues and it will be missed. The reason we are parting with it is because it was just time to upgrade. As you probably already know, Toyotas are like the Energizer bunny, known to keep going and going. 300K and even 500K miles is common-place for these vehicles. If you don’t have a 4x4, this is perfect with winter right around the corner.
