This Samurai has many upgrades and is a dependable daily driver also. The biggest upgrade is the 1.6 16 valve Geo Tracker engine, much more power than the stock engine. The engine has 84k miles and the stock odometer reads 82k. It also has the Tracker power steering, so driving it is not a workout. These Samurais are a little smaller than a jeep and can be driven on most atv trails. With the short wheelbase, they can climb up and over just about anything, go anywhere a side by side can go and its street legal and you have heat! Great hunting vehicle! It has new Desert Sand paint, exterior and interior tub just painted with Monsta-liner, a tintable bed liner paint. It has a built in UV protectant and is guaranteed against fading for 5 years. This is a tough, durable paint, I researched online and Monsta-liner is the best bed liner product available. It doesn't have rubber chips that will deteriate over time, the texture is achieved with a special roller. Check them out online. I ordered 3 gallons and only needed 2, so I will include the extra gallon and application tools with your purchase. This is a southern Samurai, NO RUST! When I purchased the Samurai, it had a transfer case with low range rock crawler gears but the case mounts were broken. I rebuilt a stock transfer case and installed it because I used the Samurai mostly for street driving and wanted to drive at highway speeds. I will include the old transfer case with low gears so you could replace the existing gears if you want it mainly for off-road use. THE GOOD Mechanical Upgrades: 1.6 16 valve Tracker engine with Trail Tough conversion kit Tracker Power steering with aftermarket fluid cooler Trussed and armored front axle Spartan Lockers High-steer and Fj80 rod ends Stainless steel braided brake lines Adjustable brake proportioning valve YJ spring conversion in rear Sky Mfg RUF swap in front Driveshaft spacers Sky Mfg extended shock mounts Rebuilt transfer case 33" Mickey Thompson Baja tires Other Upgrades: Heavy duty front and rear bumpers Rear hitch receiver Aftermarket extended fender flares Off road lights Tracker front seats and Samurai rear seat (many Samurai's are missing the rear seat) New camo seat covers front and rear (Factory seat material is in good usable cond, no tears, I just wanted front and rear seats to match) New camo floor mats Lockable center console with drink holders Storage locker on rear tailgate (has mounting holes to easily add 2 locks for security) Cobra CB radio with PA speaker under hood Dual air horns (very loud!) Black diamond plate door panels and rear side panels Farm jack Stereo w' CD player and mp3 and USB jacks THE BAD When the 1.6 engine was installed 2 years ago, The top end of the engine was 'freshened up' (when you remove the oil filler cap, valves and rocker arms look new), including replacing the valve seals. Unfortunately shortly after this, the vehicle was not driven for several months and some of the new seals apparently dried. If the vehicle sits for several days, a little oil leaks into the cylinders and it will put off a puff of smoke when cranked. There is no visible smoke if it is cranked and driven daily. My mechanic told me to add Lucas oil additive and drive it daily. He said this would help lubricate the seals and possibly stop it. If not, he said it is nothing to worry about and is harmless to the engine. This is a 26 year old vehicle and although many things have been rebuilt or replaced, it is not like a new vehicle. Below I will list the few issues that I have noticed, but there could be others that I have missed. Drivers side window sometimes vibrates/rattles when rolled down Passenger side window must be slightly pressed outward when rolling up for it to go in upper window channel Rear tailgate lock does not work Passenger door cannot be locked/unlocked from outside (inside lock works) Hood release cable is under front bumper instead of factory location in glove box As with most Samurais, the plastic hinge on the glove box lid is broken but is working with the common duct tape fix. Several of the floor drain plugs are missing but are covered by floor mats I am trying to represent this Samurai as completely and honestly as I can, but please feel free to send any additional questions you may have.
