I have decided to sell my 1997 Jeep TJ project. I originally planned to do a frame-off rebuild, but I no longer have the time to complete the project. The tub is solid, but the Jeep needs a frame badly. It is rotted out. I know that good clean frames can be found for around $1,000 - $2,000. The floorboards are solid. The 4.0L inline six starts right up. The exhaust manifold is badly cracked so it is throwing off the O2 sensors and not running as smoothly as it should. It doesn't burn any oil. The oil has always been changed every 3,000 miles. There is a coolant leak as well as a slow power steering fluid leak from the steering gear box. The automatic transmission is still working. The top was replaced a few years ago and the 35" Goodyear MT/r's have a lot of life left in them. The Jeep has a 4" Rough Country suspension lift, 1" Daystar body lift and 1" Lifted Motor Mounts, a Tom Woods driveshaft/ Slip Yoke Eliminator kit, 15x8" Cragar steel wheels, and aftermarket half-door windows. This Jeep has great potential in the hands of a good builder! This used to be my Dads and it pains me to sell it. I would like for it to go to a good home.
