I bought this Tahoe in 2010 with 101K on it. It has never once failed me; even when the transmission broke I was still able to comfortably drive it home. This is the first year of the E85 "Z" engine and it is awesome! On the highway this truck got 17.7 mpg on regular gas and 23.3 mpg on E85! This is also the last year without stability or traction control so it doesn't drive and handle like a total grocery getter. It has selectable 2wd - 4wd - 4auto and it works seamlessly! So, obviously, the elephant in the room is that the transmission is broken. It still has 3rd gear and if you're not going TOO far you can probably drive it wherever you're going. The trans pump is whining a little so I'm sure it doesn't have forever but it's still mobile for now. ***THE GOOD*** New air conditioning pump, condenser, and accunulator New alternator (biggest amperage available) New evap vent valve and canister Newer Exide battery Good Monroe Reflex shocks Never been wrecked 90% left on nice Hankook tires Firestone airbags on the rear springs (This is a NON autoride unit) Brakes and drives dead-straight ***THE LESS THAN GOOD*** Rear air/heat blend door motor doesn't work Headliner is starting to come loose above the passenger side sun visor Drivers door exterior door handle has a broken return spring (but is functional and unnoticeable visually) The quarter panels behind the rear wheels have some rust from gravel roads damaging the paint (but are in better than average condition) The is one rust spot on the passenger side rocker panel (the last time I looked) about the size of a pencil lead; stain on the paint - not a hole The passenger side catalytic converter is bad The driver's side exhaust manifold sometimes leaks very slightly until the engine warms up (very typical of Chevy trucks) The rear lift gate which is aluminum is corroding along the bottom The rear wiper motor is bad The new A/C system leaks very slowly at the connections at the evaporator (it worked through the summer and I don't have space to get it in out of the cold to continue working on it) I wouldn't mind fixing and keeping it but I'm buying house and having a little cash to get that process done would be better than watching this girl sit in the yard helplessly. I will continue to update pictures and the description and I'll make a lengthy video detailing it inside and out soon when I get it cleaned out. Please ask all the questions you want!
