The 2005 G55 AMG GRAND EDITION marked a special for the best SUV on the planet because it was the 25th anniversary year. There was a little more bells and whistles added to commemorate the occasion. They simply added everything they could think of including: 469 Horses of super-charged meyham, chrome grills galore, blue LED side runners, leather seats, navigation, differential locks from the captian chair, 4 heated seats (yes I said 4!), super cool windshield sensors (they only come on when they sense moisture), the driver seat has inflatable lumbar support (4 different bags), sunroof, and many more.... Everything is stock except I added Sirius for $2,000.00 professionally to the main stereo system at Mercedez-benz of San Diego. It's not some after-market satelite radio that hangs off the dash and you access the satilite via the stock controls of the truck. A totally fantastic upgrade I wanted for years! Overall good condition, people comment when I get it detailed it still looks brand new. I had this car detailed about every 3 months for most of 10 years I have owned it. I am the original owner and I have all the records of evertyhing done on the car. Including any maintenance, repairs, and the original purchase reciept for $116,000.00. I put in a brand new transmission about 2 years ago and new front brakes and roters this Summer. This is what needs to be done and how much it is going to cost: (1) $2,5000 - shocks are worn and need to be replaced eventually - not immediatly (quoted from MB dealership) (2) $600 - rear brakes need to be replaced next year (quoted at MB dealership) (3) $1000 - new tires need to be installed next year (4) $150 - replace Bose subwoofer (quoted at Best Buy) 5) $1000 new valve covers (quoted at MB dealership). I was planning on doing these things next year and I got all my quotes this Summer from Mercedez-benz of El Cajon and Best Buy. $5,000.00 will get the car back in tip-top shape but you don't have to do anything immediately. In spite of what needs to be done to the truck I still believe the G55 is still worth the Kelly Blue Book price. Recentely, I put a $6,000.00 new transmission into the G55 2 years ago and installed new front brakes and rotars this summer for $700.00. Such is the case, I think the negative and positive factors offset each other. I don't want to haggle and am offering my rock bottom price. The Kelly Blue Book is $35,829.00.
