A professional body shop made repairs to the passenger side front bumper and fender for a State Farm Insurance full coverage customer. One day after the repairs had been made the owner noticed mutilple dash lights suddenly come on. These included the check engine light, the transmission temp light, the abs & brake light, as well as the traction control lamp. They took it back to the body shop to read the codes and found computer fault codes, the body shop recomended replacing the computers to State Farm. Because of this unexpected high repair cost, together with the previous work that the body shop had already completed on the vehicle, the threshold of a total was reached. We bought this Subaru from State Farm with all the above mentioned dash lights on. When we began checking the computer circuits we found no ground was being fed into the computers. We traced the ground wire back to the right front fender area of the vehicle. Apparantly the body shop had loosened the wire to make the initial repairs and then when they tighten it back down it failed to make a good connection with the vehicle chassis. We fixed this bad ground connection and immediately all the dash lights went out. The vehicle has been thoroughly test driven and none of the codes came back. This vehicle has passed PA's Rebuilt Title Inspection and is being sold with a PA Rebuilt Title that is ready to register and drive!
