Smart : Smart For Two Passion 2005 diesel smart car convertible very rare

Proudly listing my 2005 Smart Fortwo Cabrio convertible cdi turbo-diesel. This is a very rare Canadian import capable of running on bio diesel. It is powered by a Mercedes engineered turbo diesel that is well known for lasting hundreds of thousands of miles. This euro-spec version has been in production since 1998 and has been proven dependable. I can easily achieve 55 to 60 mpg and hits speeds of 75+ comfortably on the freeways. The transmission is a tiptronic and not quite a manual in that it does not have a clutch pedal to depress. It does have a gear shift that is "slapped" forward to shift up through the gears. The transmission will automatically down shift as it sense the loss of speed. This particular car comes with an automatic mode which functions just like a regular automatic, however I rarely drive in that mode as the shift points don't seem spot on. Unlike the US models, it also has 6 speeds instead of the 5. I have driven it on some very long trips (East Coast to West) and would not hesitate to drive it cross country tomorrow. A rear bicycle/ ski rack is shown in the pics but is not offered as part of the sale. The car has Continental tires on all 4 wheels. Also, this car has an electric top. Other features are power windows and locks. It is a keyless entry with 2 keys. Since owning the car I have replaced the intercooler, tone rings (ABS speed rings), lubed the clutch actuator, replaced the alternator, and (just this month) put in a brand new Optima Red Top battery (best of the best). Please check your DMV to ensure it will title in your state. I have a clear Alaska title and will pass it on to the buyer. The car is located in northern California about an hour of the I-5. This Smart has tinted windows, but the window tint can be removed before delivery if you do not desire having it. Don't assume this car isn't safe just because it is not a large SUV, it has front and side airbags for both the driver and passenger. It received the highest rating of 'good' in front-end and side-impact testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It also received the top score of 5 stars in side testing in crash tests conducted by the government.
