NOTE: The purchase price includes shipping from Alaska to Tacoma/Seattle, Washington. This is my 2008 Mustang Shelby GT500KR (King of the Road). This car is immaculate in every way and is #754 of only 1,011 40th Anniversary KR's produced in 2008 and 1 of only 476 Silver Metallic with Vista Blue stripes versions. In 2009 there were 712 KR's produced as well, making the total run for 08/09 1,723 units which included the prototypes and Canadian models. This KR was purchased with 6,500 miles and currently has 9,687 as of today (7/1/15) . The 2008-09 GT500KR's are unique cars with many special features not found on other Mustangs or late model sports cars. Unlike the regular GT500 models which are very special in their own right, the KR's were actually shipped direct from Ford Motor Co. to Las Vegas where they were upgraded with the $35,000 KR package by Shelby American Inc. All KR's have a Carroll Shelby Motor's (CSM) number which gives them the unique distinction of being a true Shelby vehicle. The KR has many great features such as a carbon fiber hood, Shaker 1000 stereo system and a 540 HP Supercharged 5.4 liter V8. It also came from the Shelby with the Ford Racing suspension and exhaust, 18"Alcoa wheels, 40th Anniversary badging and 6-speed transmission. Moreover, this KR recently received a full Shelby two-tone leather interior upgrade, Shelby carbon fiber rockers, Shelby billet "KR" sill plates engraved with the CSM#, Shelby "Kicker" door speaker upgrade, "KR" hood shocks, carbon fiber radiator cover and a few other upgrades. It also received new Stillen slotted brake rotors and new Nitto 555 tires. The carbon fiber rockers, mirror covers and front splitter have been professionally covered in 3-M rock-guard for protection. With the exception of the rotors, tires, and CF radiator cover this KR is 100% Shelby and is listed in the Official Shelby Registry as such. I also have all of the original parts minus the plastic rockers. Another unique feature of owning a KR is that in order to purchase replacement parts for it, you must submit your registration and VIN to Shelby Performance Parts or they will not sell you the parts...these parts are restricted to registered owners only. To obtain more information on this great vehicle google or yahoo 2008 Shelby GT500KR and read all about it. Or you can contact me. I saved the best for last...this KR has been signed by Carroll Shelby himself and comes with all necessary documentation to authenticate the signature. It also comes with a few Shelby memorabilia items. The car does have one nick the size of a pin-head above the left headlight (pic included). Other than that, it's damn near perfect. Thank you,

1968 Shelby GT-500-KR Convertible428 Cobra Jet - Factory AirMatt Garrett - Dallas Texas - 214-878-3823 Click here for My Car Hobby Home Page1968 Shelby GT500-KR1968 Shelby GT500-KR Convertible, Shelby 3854 - FACTORY AC, 428 cu. in. Cobra-Jet V-8 engine, C6 auto, 3:00 Trac-Lok 9" Diff. Built June 26th, 1968 this Shelby is a substantial, rare and very documented car in many publications going back to the 80s as it sits exactly today. Original miles, original body and interior, Numbers match everywhere. This car received a comprehensive refinish done in the 80s by its 2nd owner, Chuck Brown in CA documented not only in photos, but many publications of that era.. This was never a left for dead or done for profit car. It was not a torn up neglected car or just a VIN used to cash in. This is not a "just restored car" It was, always was and still is a very nice mid #1 level example that has been loved all of its life. I wont quote production #s on KR Convertibles as that is redundant if you know these cars, but of course will mention the fact that Factory AC on and GT500KR is a needle in the haystack and really is what puts this car over the top as a rare collector. In the 80s when 2nd owner Chuck Brown decided to take this car up a notch, he was not thinking of how Marti and all of the other things people base these cars this minute on were going to play out about 30 years later. He was thinking of quality vs just a surface face that will pass muster at a now common auction. The very comprehensive refinish is now over 30 years old. Looking as good as it does today is rare to see on a car refreshed so many years ago. Again, this is not a restoration... Of course those terms 'patina" and "settling in nicely' coined by those auctions do come to play, but the car is really exceptional and shows better now as it did when all of these magazines had it featured. Every number and code are matching, original and authentic on this car as inspected by noted appraisers and Kevin Marti... Then later in its life, Carol himself. The 3rd Owner was Carol's friend/neighbor here in Texas. Carol was instrumental in finding/recommending this car for Mr Wise, a very wealthy entrepreneur that had a money no object stance with anything he did. Ironically the car was never "signed" by Carol as it was not deemed necessary in that circle. Many years prior to Carol's death, the 3rd owner of this car, Mr. Wise, passed away leaving this car to sit well protected for over another decade. Now what is is not correct on this car is the color or the fact the wheel centers are outlined in red. It is a Code R Highland Green car. In the 80s, Chuck Brown took the attitude that I agree with, "they are only original once' and this car cannot ever make that claim again even if the only thing done was paint a fender.. In this world of originality it does get that ridiculous, but I dont make the rules. Chuck elected to take what is considered by many as not a great color and changed it correctly as any color change ever done to Red. Purists may poopoo that to death that have not yet completed their restoration that may or may not ever get done, but it is what it is and the car is WAY too nice to go and color change to match the tag up and take away much of its noted attraction and history that it has under its belt. The car has been red for way longer than it has been green! The outlined red wheels are as you see in the 80s publications. I leave them that way as the documentation trail stays in tact. Think of this.... It was never in a magazine or won shows as a green car... so take it for what you will. This car received tip marks at SAAC in 1988 exactly as you see it now with no refreshment. It is also said to have been at SAAC 3 and 9 but I have not seen any photos of it there. Hoping someone may have one that turns up. This is a CA car, so it went to many of the SAAC early events. This is one of the nicest and highest integrity 60s cars I have seen, owned or been associated with to date. Far from a muscle car dealer slap together and not far off from the best day one original that has survived as best as all the love in the world could give it.More below after photos. For sale to the collector that wants a car that can show/drive that comes with authentication, history, prevalence and more. Interesting trades considered up or down. Prefer GM muscle with big engine option, AC and convertible. Apples to apples in other words. Just run it by me and see if something works out. My collection is a working collection, I trade, buy or sell with similar collectors world wide when the opportunity is right. Real miles, non restored dash, cluster, etc.I cannot say if this is the actual original windshield, but it shows a level of patina that indicates it is. All stamps are correct and it shows original. All door glass is original. As seen in 1989 magazine Good Points Mid Level 1 Show Car - It will be the King of most any show it enters History!!! - As you see this car has been its condition all the way back to the early 80s and is CA car noted and documentedDocumentation - In many magazines in the 80s and 90s at a time that most were left for deadAttended all early SAAC events in CAOriginality - Despite being a partial restoration, much originality is in this car. Storage - Never a left for dead car, always nice since new!Ownership - Never out of responsible hands. Most of these cars are pieced together, this one is not.Done for love - Never Profit - Done at a time when depth and quality were more important that purism and on surface cosmeticsIntegrity - Beyond what you can see at auctions... Would be hard pressed to find one that is this sorted (as it has not been torn apart to need sorting), fully functional and simply runs and drives like a near new car with the AC on.A star attraction at MANY MANY SW united states car shows for the past many years. So much it has just become a display car vs a judged car. Thank you for visiting; Click here for My Car Hobby Home PageYou can email me at [email protected]
