This is a first year of the modern day GT500 that is finished in Vista Blue with the White LeMans racing stripes. It is the return of the GT500 after it was first introduced in 1967 forty years ago. It has had 2 owners. Like new both in and out. Completely stock and never messed with. Ford's MyColor feature allows the driver to adjust the color of instrument lighting to one of 125 color combinations (now set to RED, WHITE and BLUE). It has a great Shaker 500 Audio system AM/FM w/cdx6, MP3 and the Sirius satellite radio option. It has a 5.4L supercharged DOHC,32 valve engine that generates an astonishing 500 horsepower with large 14" BREMBO antilock front brakes and a 6-speed Tremec transmission. It has the WOOA and the GO! Ford also decided to equip the GT500 with a solid rear axle posi-rearend. This has the effect of making the vehicle very drag-race friendly, as it minimizes wheel spin and helps pin the rear-wheels to the ground under heavy acceleration. The dual white stripes are an iconic touch, but they have a unique silver edging to match the dual roll hoops. Of course the item that shines the brightest are the five-spoke Cobra R wheels. Plus, it wouldn't be a competition-style car without a flip-up gas cap. It keeps a traditional appearance inside with the low-back bucket seats, racing seatbelts, and forward curved gearshift. A wood-rimmed steering wheel re-creates the Cobra look, and the dash offers a full array of Auto Meter gauges. For the driver this feels like a pure performance machine right down to the fire extinguisher on the transmission tunnel. But just in case your passenger needs a little entertainment, there's also a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo system to keep everyone going.
