Back in 1951, this Oldsmobile 98 Deluxe Sedan was not only one of the most stylish cars on the road by virtue of its innovative hardtop styling, but also one of the fastest thanks to Oldsmobiles famous Rocket V8. Even today, its a blast to drive and makes for one of the most handsome cars of the period. Everything else that came before it was second-place, and if you were fast, you had a Rocket under your hood. The fantastic styling of this 98 Deluxe Sedan makes it the ideal professional hot rod of the period. Blending a few curves left over from the 1940s and a streamlined look that would define the 1950s. The chrome and trim is beautifully done and the rocket theme repeats itself on the hood ornament and under the headlights, which resemble the intakes on a fighter plane. The three-pane rear window was a GM styling trademark, as were the lovely globe emblems front and rear. Its obvious this car has led a really good life. 1953 Cadillac Coupe Deville Original West Texas Survivor Original Color Scheme Priced to sell This car is truly a beautiful rare find. All original 53 Cadillac. All numbers matching. One re-spray with some blemishes. Some pitting and cracking, driver quality painting. Roof has been painted recently and shows some dark streaks. The car shows very well, but is not a show car but is a great driver. Chrome is in very nice condition. Mechanically very solid. Radiator has had recently cleaned, fuel pump and carburetor was rebuilt in the last 90 days. It does leak some oil and transmission fluid. Gas tank was cleaned with new sending unit installed but does not always work. The cars driver side door power window works intermittently. Also, power seat does not work. Radio will turn on but not play and the clock on the dash does not work. This is a great driver at highway speeds 70 mph easy. Newer breaks and hoses have been installed. The car stops great. Solid undercarriage, frame, rockers, floors and quarters are all rust free. Interior looks to be original. Carpet looks ok but I would replace if I was keeping the car. There is a small hole in the drivers side carpet. Flawless headliner. All lights and gauges work. After market air conditioner has been installed but needs to be recharged. I have driven the car over 500 miles with no trouble. All tires match and have great tread.(Bias-ply) The car in registered and inspected with a Texas title. Car is ready to go.
