I now work from home 100% of the time and have family medical bills to pay, so I unfortunately I need to sell. Having been garaged and never parked near other cars in a parking lot, it is in "like new" condition, there have been no issues with the car and it has been only Mazda dealer serviced. When new I had a professional installation of 3M™ Scotchgard Paint Protection Film Pro Series "clear bra" on the nose, half-way up the hood, on rear bumper, mirror backs, door handle cavities, door edges, lower extremities, etc. Here are some details about the car: The I-Sport trim level is equipped with the Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter gasoline engine and Skyactiv-MT 6-speed manual transmission. Has 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, power-operated side-view mirrors and automatic headlight shutoff. Push-button start, six-way adjustable cloth seats with driver's lumbar adjustment, power windows with a driver's side 1-touch auto up/down feature, 60/40-split fold-down rear seats, cruise control, leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise control functions, and air conditioning with a pollen filter are also standard features. The standard entertainment system is a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD system that can deliver MP3/SiriusXM satellite radio reception. This is a beautiful restoration of my 1996 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon, with a 327 ci restored motor and PowerGlide transmission. I am the third owner and have owned it for 10 years. The previous owner had it since 1972 and was a Chevy mechanic at the local dealer. I know the car has been consistently garaged since 1972, and never driven in the winter in all those years. Since I have owned it, not even in the rain. I did an inside and outside restoration about 8 years ago and as you can see by the pictures, the body/paint work was done to a superlative level. I’ve strived to keep this car to look just like it did when it was sold new. The paint/clear coat has about 10 layers and smooth as a mirror. The wood trim as completely re-done and professionally restored to appear more like natural wood than the original. A professional wood artist was brought in to do the woody parts. The inlay is a high quality marine level contact material. Much of the chrome has been re-done as well. The 15 inch wheels were put on the by the previous owner and are off a mid-70’s Corvette. I replaced the tires. The original wheels are not available, but I have the original 14 inch wheel covers. The brakes are all fully restored drum brakes. All suspension parts have been restored or upgraded where needed. The car sits at the precise height as called for in the Fischer Manual (which comes with the car as well as the original shop manual). The mufflers came to me quite aged and rattly, so I replaced them with a pair that gives a nice V-8 rumble to the car. It’s a dual-exhaust system. The interior was also restored, and all metal parts repainted. The original owner had special ordered the interior in Gold color, though the color code on the metal tag shows Fawn as the original color. The seat vinyl is gold, and there is one small tear on the driver's seat, but I do have an original bolt of gold vinyl if needed for repair. The rear window glass is new as the original was scratched. The carpeting was replaced with gold carpet. The floor was not rusted and was recovered with insulation. The dash pad is new as the old one was cracked. The steering wheel was also restored. The speedometer reading is precise to the car’s actual speed. The fuel gauge works but sadly the clock doesn’t. I do have a spare instrument cluster, but that clock also doesn’t work. The radio in the dash is original but doesn’t work, but there is an aftermarket stereo installed in the glovebox. The previous owner had installed speakers in the door panels (and cut holes), and I upgraded those as well as put in a removable bass speaker. All the metalwork behind the seats have been restored, including the entire tailgate as well. I put in the seat belts for 9 passengers! The headliner has a few marks but is intact. The motor is the original one, but the carburetor is an Edelbrock. I have the original Rochester. The ignition system was upgraded to an electronic one. The motor was completely rebuilt 2 years ago as well as the transmission, which is a 2-speed PowerGlide. It works perfectly. The air conditioner was upgraded to R134 and it puts out 39 degrees F. The engine compartment is also restored. The wipers are the original metal ones and work. The windshield washer does not. I have a lot of the parts we replaced such as the dash pad. I do not have an original air cleaner. As with most restorations, I have A LOT more money into it than I’m selling it for. This car will make an awesome car show car or a fun car to take to get ice cream on a sunny summer day! And it comes with the surfboard (if you want it)!
