ColorBurgundyTitleClearThe Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II was introduced in October 1959, and was the first Rolls-Royce model to exceed Bentley in production numbers, with 2,716 built between 1959 and 1962. The car was also the first to utilize Rolls-Royce’s aluminum, 6.2-liter, 230-hp V-8. The Silver Cloud’s new V-8 engine replaced the venerable straight-six, which was originally introduced in 1907 and fitted to the Silver Ghost. The Silver Cloud models signaled the end of the coachbuilt period, as Rolls-Royce found it could sell 10 times as many cars with “standard steel bodies.” Custom Rolls-Royces were occasionally built after 1970. These coach built Silver Clouds are extremely desirable today as a result. This particular car is in good running and driving condition. In need of some TLC, the car could be kept as is and used as a driver or would be a great candidate for a full restoration. It has an original interior in nice condition with all detail trim intact. Exterior chrome is all there and in good condition, car is running strong and drives smooth down the road with no squeaks or rattles. Some of the things we found, front bumper has a small dent on left front side and has some pitting, right front mirror is missing. The car has been painted in the past and in need of attention if you wanted to clean her up but a good polish would do wonders. You have some slight bubbling on the lower rear quarter panels. Underside overall is clean, you have one spot of rot on the left inner rocker (see pictures) under the passenger door and that is all that could be found. A great entry level classic, you can enjoy it as is or with a good paint job bring it 's level up 100%. Interior is more then presentable as is and all mechanicals seem good but having a once over couldn't hurt, this car is all here.
