1968 Porsche 911 S 1968 PORSCHE 911S SOFT WINDOW TARGA, SOLID CAR WITH LOW, ORIGINAL MILES

1968 911S Soft Window Targa in Tangerine. Early version with the aluminum engine, Elephant hide and early style split decklid/rear grill. The car had sat in dry storage for 30 years after the owner died. It has 116,000 kilometers on it (72,000 miles). Interior is original Elephant Hide in good condition. I put a wood wheel in it, but have the original leather wheel too. I just had the original engine completely rebuilt and tweaked by Jeff Gameroth at Rothsport. It dyno tested at 207hp and it's still breaking in (25 miles on it) so it should end up at 210+ or so. I have full documentation for the rebuild and copies of the dyno readouts. Original IDS carbs were rebuilt by Paul Abbot. Rothsport replaced the first gear syncros and it is smooth and quiet in all gears. They also corner balanced the car and did a 4 wheel alignment. It runs and drives fantastic. Sounds great too with the new sport muffler.When I bought the car the eng/trans were there, but not in it so I took that opportunity to scrape off all of the old undercoating and reseal it. I found NO rust so it was just a matter of priming, painting and putting on a light coat of undercoating. The calipers were rebuilt and I replaced the master cylinder, rotors and all of the rubber brake lines. New Konis all around. Still has it's original, first year, Bosch H1 headlights and Hella 128 fog lights too.Original, correct 15X5 1/2" Fuchs, including the spare dated 9/67. I put on new Michelins.I had the top rebuilt with the correct, early style headliner by Autobahn. The rear top is original(brass zipper) and in excellent condition except for a minor split seam in one of the corners which I sealed. Gauges and switches work great, including the clock. Original Webasto gas heater. The fan works great, but I did not hook it up to fuel so I didn't test the heater function. Amazingly it has the original gas heater exhaust pipe and muffler. Usually just the mounts are there - truly a solid car!The car was painted 40 years ago in the correct Blutorange(Tangerine). It looks very nice, but upon close inspection it would need a repaint to show. As the saying goes "They are only original once". If you are looking for a restored car - this isn't it. The upholstery, carpet, dash, gauges, rear top, wheels, trunk, etc are all original. Very nice, but not perfect. Sure the car could be restored to perfection, but it would be a shame to do that to such an original car. But, the engine, running gear, brakes, shocks, etc are all fresh so it is fun and reliable.I did obtain a Kardex, which shows it has the original engine. This is a great car and I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere, but I am not a dealer so it is sold in "As Is" condition with no warranty, express or implied. 1984 Porsche 944 in exceptional condition. I know everyone says it, but this car is a must-see. It looks showroom nice. Owned by PCA Member who takes pride in his Porsches! White, very nice paint. 138k miles. Ultra clean interior and exterior. Leather, power everything, always covered and garaged. Runs great, good fuel economy, drives and handles great.Highly desirable Fuchs wheels worth over $1,000 in the wheel set alone.Full maintenance records. All maintenance performed by Porsche mechanics. Timing belt and motor mounts changed recently and comes with newer Goodyear Eagle GT's. The main wart is the driver's side seat. A closeup has been provided. Full disclosure of everything I can think of that is less than perfect with the car.- Problem with the sunroof. I purchased this car from my father-in-law, who purchased it before that from a friend of his and fellow PCA member. The original sunroof guts broke, which I believe is a known problem with these cars. My FIL had the Inland NW Porsche dealer replace the internals with a new later system. Unfortunately, this no longer works. So the sunroof is either off or all the way closed. I haven't fixed it because I really only drive this car in the nicer weather and it is garaged the rest of the time. It doesn't leak though and it could be a very simple fix. I don't know and have not looked into it.- Driver's seat cracked. (See photo on CL) - Handbrake button needs new retention piece. - CD player quit working last year. I don't listen to the radio much in that car and have not bothered to troubleshoot it. That's really all I can think of. This car is a gem and is super clean. It looks awesome and drives great.

Very powerful engine Rebuilt to 2.7rs specs less then 10k on it. No leaks. SS exhaust with heat. Tranny rebuilt and brakes too No receipts from previous owner. was involved in an accident because of a deer around a bend. Repainted its original Bahia red not the best paint job but ok. I did remove all glass moldings everything. Newer stainless gas tank. Dog leg transmission shifts in all gear great it was rebuilt. The car comes with an original jack. The dash is cracked. New front shock Bilstein. Roll bar is bolted on. Rear seats are there. New tires. Clear title. Plate 911 EGO. This is a fun driver. 3. Burgandy 1970 porsche 911S TARGA. Coa matching numbers engine. No way to verify if the trasmission matches as it was not recorded on the COA. This cars was shown in Auburn Cord DuesenbergAutomobile Museum in the early 1980's. Unfortunately there was a fire and many of there prized autos where damaged. This car was purchased in the 1980 and stored in a barn in Indiana. I do have a bill of sale from the museum included with a clear title. The targa top was stored in another area and did not get damaged also storage bag included. I bought a plastic airfilter canister included in sale. We did find the original tool kit included. The rear aluminum license panel is included. The front oil cooler is there too.
