I've been thinning out my personal collection this year to go in another direction. This has been a great car that has been perfectly reliable and is a blast to drive. The exterior is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and looks fantastic. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. If I'm being picky, there are a few small rock chips on the front end. By a few, I mean 8 that I counted (all no more than 1mm in diameter). I would consider this to be acceptable for the age and mileage on this 996. The panel gaps are even all around. All of the glass and lenses are intact, with exception of a chipped corner (maybe the size of a pinky nail) on the left tail light. The headlights are crystal clear and the lenses are fully intact. The Litronic lights do an excellent job at lighting up the road at night. The original wheels have been upgraded with a nice looking set of 20" thin spoked wheels. I'm not sure who the maker of the wheels is...they were on the car when I got it. The tires are a matching set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports with deep tread all around. On a side note, I love the Michelin PSS's, I run them on my Ferrari. They are great tires. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this 996 Turbo looks. I'll probably regret selling this car in a few years...just like I regret not buying a 993 Turbo back when you could get a nice one for $60k. It's only a matter of time before these cars begin to appreciate. If you look at the future of exotics, everyone in F1 is going hybrid. It'll probably be a decade or two before that trickles down to the street versions, but it will happen. When that happens, that will do to all traditional sports cars what the water cooled Porsche's initially did to the air-cooled ones...that's just my opinion. However, I'm putting my money where my mouth is and doubling down on my own collection. I really went back and forth on whether or not to sell this car because I love it. Unfortunately, I've set a strict formula on what to buy, what to keep that I already own and what to sell. Unfortunately, this car does not meet my criteria. I'm just happy I got to own it and drive it for the time I have. The Natural Brown interior looks amazing against the metallic black interior. As you open the door, the first thing that hits you is the gorgeous contrast in colors in the interior. This specific 996 Turbo has the desirable Carbon Fiber interior package, which gives a full length carbon fiber center section, carbon fiber parking brake handle, carbon fiber shifter and full length carbon fiber door sills with the "Turbo" logo. The carbon fiber interior trim contrasts nicely with the Natural Brown leather. The second thing you notice is the unmistakable smell of Porsche leather. The full leather interior shows very well, with no visible wear. The leather shows no shrinking and no fading. All of the stitching is intact and looks great. The Alcantara headliner looks great. From what I've seen, everything seems to be working properly. The factory audio system has been upgraded with a Pioneer touch screen sound system with integrated GPS Navigation, Bluetooth to sync up with your personal electronics as well as a traditional AM/FM/CD entertainment system. It runs through the factory speakers and sounds great. I haven't screwed with it too much but it seems to be working properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and works great. The air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR. The front luggage compartment is clean and looks to have barely been used. Mechanically, this 996 Turbo is in good running and driving condition. The 3.6L flat six cylinder engine starts right up and purrs like a kitten. I haven't noticed any leaks and the engine doesn't smoke. Her road manners are excellent, as they should be. If I'm being picky, I think the oversized wheels and thin-walled tires take away some of the ride quality...but that's probably just me getting old, haha. The steering and brakes feel great. AWD Porsche's are amazing...you just point it in the direction you want to go and you're there before you know it. You still have to respect the car, but it's not the "widowmaker" that the early cars were known to be. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the six speed manual transmission are clean and precise, just as they should be. In addition to being ridiculously fast, this Porsche can also be very tame and easy to drive when you want it to be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. She makes an excellent touring car, too. I've taken her on a long trip or two and was very pleased. Additionally, I've gotten the fuel economy up past the 20mpg mark. Admittedly, I am not a Porshe guy. I don't believe this car is completely stock. I believe the exhaust has been upgraded. It is not too loud, though...just enough to let you know it's there. This car is an absolute blast to drive. The power comes on quickly and just doesn't let up. Even with the massive tires, this car will sometimes break the tires loose from a roll in first gear. This 996 Turbo comes as a fresh local trade at Sun Motor Cars Porsche in Mechanicsburg, PA. I've been thinning out my personal collection this year to go in another direction. This has been a great car that has been perfectly reliable and is a blast to drive. The exterior is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and looks fantastic. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. If I'm being picky, there are a few small rock chips on the front end. By a few, I mean 8 that I counted (all no more than 1mm in diameter). I would consider this to be acceptable for the age and mileage on this 996. The panel gaps are even all around. All of the glass and lenses are intact, with exception of a chipped corner (maybe the size of a pinky nail) on the left tail light. The headlights are crystal clear and the lenses are fully intact. The Litronic lights do an excellent job at lighting up the road at night. The original wheels have been upgraded with a nice looking set of 20" thin spoked wheels. I'm not sure who the maker of the wheels is...they were on the car when I got it. The tires are a matching set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports with deep tread all around. On a side note, I love the Michelin PSS's, I run them on my Ferrari. They are great tires. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this 996 Turbo looks. I'll probably regret selling this car in a few years...just like I regret not buying a 993 Turbo back when you could get a nice one for $60k. It's only a matter of time before these cars begin to appreciate. If you look at the future of exotics, everyone in F1 is going hybrid. It'll probably be a decade or two before that trickles down to the street versions, but it will happen. When that happens, that will do to all traditional sports cars what the water cooled Porsche's initially did to the air-cooled ones...that's just my opinion. However, I'm putting my money where my mouth is and doubling down on my own collection. I really went back and forth on whether or not to sell this car because I love it. Unfortunately, I've set a strict formula on what to buy, what to keep that I already own and what to sell. Unfortunately, this car does not meet my criteria. I'm just happy I got to own it and drive it for the time I have. The Natural Brown interior looks amazing against the metallic black interior. As you open the door, the first thing that hits you is the gorgeous contrast in colors in the interior. This specific 996 Turbo has the desirable Carbon Fiber interior package, which gives a full length carbon fiber center section, carbon fiber parking brake handle, carbon fiber shifter and full length carbon fiber door sills with the "Turbo" logo. The carbon fiber interior trim contrasts nicely with the Natural Brown leather. The second thing you notice is the unmistakable smell of Porsche leather. The full leather interior shows very well, with no visible wear. The leather shows no shrinking and no fading. All of the stitching is intact and looks great. The Alcantara headliner looks great. From what I've seen, everything seems to be working properly. The factory audio system has been upgraded with a Pioneer touch screen sound system with integrated GPS Navigation, Bluetooth to sync up with your personal electronics as well as a traditional AM/FM/CD entertainment system. It runs through the factory speakers and sounds great. I haven't screwed with it too much but it seems to be working properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and works great. The air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR. The front luggage compartment is clean and looks to have barely been used. Mechanically, this 996 Turbo is in good running and driving condition. The 3.6L flat six cylinder engine starts right up and purrs like a kitten. I haven't noticed any leaks and the engine doesn't smoke. Her road manners are excellent, as they should be. If I'm being picky, I think the oversized wheels and thin-walled tires take away some of the ride quality...but that's probably just me getting old, haha. The steering and brakes feel great. AWD Porsche's are amazing...you just point it in the direction you want to go and you're there before you know it. You still have to respect the car, but it's not the "widowmaker" that the early cars were known to be. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure. There have been no idiot lights on. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the six speed manual transmission are clean and precise, just as they should be. In addition to being ridiculously fast, this Porsche can also be very tame and easy to drive when you want it to be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. She makes an excellent touring car, too. I've taken her on a long trip or two and was very pleased. Additionally, I've gotten the fuel economy up past the 20mpg mark. Admittedly, I am not a Porshe guy. I don't believe this car is completely stock. I believe the exhaust has been upgraded. It is not too loud, though...just enough to let you know it's there. This car is an absolute blast to drive. The power comes on quickly and just doesn't let up. Even with the massive tires, this car will sometimes break the tires loose from a roll in first gear.
