1974 phoenix red 914 1.8 and had been repainted yellow before I got it in 1988. I drove the car for four years and then in 1992 started what turned into a 15 year restoration and conversion project. The conversion was completed in 2007. I have driven the car about 1,000 miles a year since that time. Unit Body: The wiring harness was removed and the car was dipped at American Metal Cleaning in Cincinnati Ohio. All rust was removed and a clean unit body was the starting point of this project. The car has no rust and no hell hole issues. It has a full safety devices roll cage. GT style chassis stiffing kit installed. Dyno mat sound deadener in both the passenger compartment and the firewall. There is an access panel behind the back pad for access to the fan belt. The fender flares are OEM steel and came from Stoddard in Cleveland back in 1993. The paint color is guards red. Suspension, Steering and Brakes: It has 1987 911 Carrera front suspension with sway bar. 180 lb rear springs on adjustable perches Weltmeister adjustable rear sway bar with drop links. 1987 911 brakes on all four corners including the hand brake set up just like a 911. The car has reinforced trailing arms, Adjustable rear Koni yellow shocks The master Cylinder is 19mm. The key is in the dash The steering column is from a 914-6. Other: The outer mirrors are early style. The car has working euro front turn signal lenses and parking lights The car has dual pairs of driving lights, each pair switched independently and they contain city lights that light up when the parking lights are on. The headlights are H4. The car has a rare Saratoga top. The rear spoiler is custom made from an Olds 442 The Hood pin plates are hand made to the exact size of the factory parts. The rocker panels are a combination of fiberglass and steel because the fiberglass ones don't fit very well. The shift knob is 917 style. The wheels are Real Fuchs off a late 80s 911 (7 and 8 x 16). The bumpers are steel and have the front grill over the oil cooler opening is all custom. The bumpers are all 914-6 GT style but steel. The rubber bumper tops are in like new condition. The car has a working battery cut off switch on the cowl. The fresh air fan blows and the wipers work. Front License plate on a custom receiver hitch style mount for easy removal. Finned Gas Cap in front hood. German metric Speedometer in KPH. Blaupunkt stereo and round 6” speakers (not pictured in interior shot) Dual lighter, cell phone chargers under dash. Secret fuel pump cut off switch. Remote rear trunk opener. Wink Mirror. Front tie down, tow hooks. Heavy duty metal seat retractor handles. Interior: The door panels inside the car are 914-6 GT style and even the bezels around the inlets for the pulls are custom made by a 914 world member back years ago. The car has a full leather interior, clean like new carpet. The car has a leather steering wheel with an original working hockey puck horn button. Drive Train: The engine is a 3.2 from a 1986 911. Nice Lapis blue/gray leather 2003 Porsche Boxster 2.7l six, tiptronic. Climate control, heated seats. Newer tires, 17" Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position <3000 miles. Maintenance by Euro Classics, Moraine, OH. Motul oil at 81,000, L & N IMS Retrofit installed (preventative) at about 78,000 and new water pump at about 76,000 (receipts with car). Changed oil every year no matter how few miles. Never driven in slush or snow, stays covered (nice Porsche car cover included in sale) in winter and only sees rain by mistake! Great condition on the top for year, glass heated rear window. Manual seats. Finish is excellent except for some tiny rock chips on front, a nickle sized blemish on the fender from a "bird strike", and a repair to a fiber fender/lower rocker panel protective piece. Please see photos - to anyone not familiar with the Boxster, this is a super sweet handling roadster, has the wind deflector - quiet cockpit with top down!! Climate control temp numbers faded/out (LCD) but works fine. Clock set stem broken. Handling, engine, tranny, etc A+. Porsche Club members. Sold as-is where it's at. Many photos. Transportation is buyer's responsibility, I'll cooperate with any proper shipping company. 3rd party inspection welcomed before you bid. $500 deposit via PayPal at purchase, full payment before pickup (or cash at pickup), any check type transaction must completely clear before pickup. Mileage will increase slightly, being driven weekends. Clear title available at purchase. Edmunds five star rated vehicle: Edmunds Expert Review of the 2003 Porsche Boxster ConvertibleA mid-engine design and classic Porsche styling, not to mention sublime steering and brakes, give the Boxster a unique combination of traits that few cars can match at this price point.SafetyProsSupreme handling characteristics, relatively generous cargo capacity, fast power top operation.ConsPrice can quickly escalate due to costly options, some cheap interior trim. What's New for 2003Minor visual updates, including revised front and rear fascias and gray (versus the previous yellow) tint for the turn signal lenses, along with a boost in output keep the Boxster relevant in the face of faster, more refined rivals. Heated glass rear window.
