The first owner is a retired engineer who preordered the car back in mid 1996. This was the second Boxster in the Pittsburgh area and the first one is the most desirable arctic silver / black interior/ Manual Transmission combination. I purchased the car 3 months ago but I am getting transferred and unfortunately it will be difficult for me to take the car. The car has never seen the rain or snow. It has always garage kept and the car has the following features: -Carfax history. Clean records, no accidents and all service has been documented. -All manuals, catalogues, brochures, window sticker documentation that came with the car when it came from the dealer. Even the radio code cards are part of the documentation. -A great collection of magazines from 1996-1997 that were used for research by the previous owner before ordering the car. -A folder with all service records for the car. This includes every oil change, filter change, and any parts replaced. All service has been done at the dealer or independent Porsche mechanic locally. -The original “Boxster” PA vanity license plate that was used by the previous owner. I registered the car as a classic because I don’t drive it often and it qualifies as a classic in PA. -All three keys, Original tool kit, cup holders and absolutely everything that the car came with. -Clean title. -80-90% left on all four tires. + Two spare rear tires + brand new spare tire. The car had two new rear tires installed back in 2011 and then when the front needed replacement, the previous owner replaced all four so that is why two 90% rears are available. Tires are Michelin Pilots. -41K original miles!! All documented, never raced and extremely cared for. -Absolutely everything works (lights, radio, very cold AC). Mechanically it is in excellent condition and it passed state inspection 3 months ago. I did maintenance 2 months ago so it has new Mobil 1 oil + air filter, + oil filter+ cabin filter + all fluids were topped off. Engine, suspension, brakes, steering, cooling, transmission, clutch etc... all in perfect shape. -Exterior and interior is in fantastic shape. The leather is in beautiful shape as well as every aspect of the car. Paint is in great shape. This Boxster needs absolutely nothing. The early Boxsters are extremely desirable and there are clubs and websites dedicated to the 986 model in particular as its looks and reliability are considered a lot better than the models that came after. There are some 97 Boxsters being sold for less but none come close to the condition of this one. A well cared for Porsche is a great investment and getting cheaper ones will mean in most cases trips to the mechanic and getting spare parts which will very quickly add up to the price of a good one.
