In 1989 the 944S2 was introduced, powered by a normally aspirated, dual-overhead-cam 16-valve 3.0L version of the 944S engine. The 944S2 also received a revised transmission and gearing to better suit the 3.0-liter M44/41 power plant. The 944S2 had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model. This was the first example of the use of an integrated front bumper, where the fender and hood profiles would merge smoothly with the bumper, a design feature that has only now seen widespread adoption on the 1990 onward production cars. Performance was quoted as 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds, with a top speed of 150 mph via manual transmission. This was an extremely rare production car for Porsche and the S2 Cabriolet was only made 1989-1991 in very low numbers. This beautiful example has only 46,325 original miles and has been fully serviced, including the major timing belt service, just over 100 miles ago. We have also repainted the car in base/ clear coat the original silver because fading had occurred due to the age of the car even though the car has been garaged during its life. The leather is in excellent condition, as are the carpets, dash, and glass. The stayfast canvas top is also new. New Michelin tires have been installed all around. You will really enjoy the driving experience in this Porsche.
