1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Car sold "As-is." Therefore, I highly recommend you come view the car in person if possible 143,000 indicated miles but odometer stopped working about 500 miles ago. Haven't looked into the cause. Car is mostly stock, albeit with a few tasteful, moderate performance modifications. An incredible amount of work has gone into this car very recently. Runs and drives very, very nicely. Boosts smoothly and very strongly. I have a hefty stack of receipts documenting all parts replaced and machine work done while I have owned the car. There are still a few issues which I will list below. I will continue to remedy these issues as time permits. Price will go up as I repair these items. Engine: Completely stripped down about 700 miles ago. It had spun a connecting rod bearing. It was the notorious #2 con rod bearing which are famous for failing at higher miles. Great news for you that this job has been done. All new main and con rod bearings, new piston rings, cylinder bores were absolutely perfect as confirmed by one of the few machinists who knows these alusil blocks, Arlington Automotive Machine, who thoroughly checked all components and clearances. Crank was polished. Head resurfaced. all valvetrain components are in excellent condition. All engine seals, belts, and gaskets were replaced. Factory turbo in excellent condition. Centerforce Clutch, resurfaced flywheel, adjustable boost controller, K&N filter, lindsey racing ECU Chip, lindsey racing catback exhaust. Wastegate replaced with a good stock unit (a stud had snapped on the old one), All exhaust harware replaced with new (this is huge if you have ever worked on a 951 from new england before). There is a very slight exhaust leak that I have been unable to pinpoint. Gives off some fumes, is quietly audible, but does not seem to effect boost at all. It is very minor but it is there Transaxle: Very smooth, fluid replaced very recently with the correct redline oil Suspension/steering: Bone stock. new sway bar bushings. new intermediate steering shaft. New power steering lines. Will soon be giving it new tie rod ends and an alignment. Recent EBC Red pads (very nice!) and stainless braided brake lines. Body: Originally guards red, the previous owner repainted it a deeper, much nicer shade of red. I believe its a late model Corvette color. I have the paint code. Body is straight as an arrow. I replaced the nose panel and hood due to dents and painted them myself. From 10 feet they look flawless, however an up-close inspection will reveal some imperfections. They should be redone professionally. The rest of the paint is sensational. Interior: Cracked dash (as per usual), recovered seats, new gearshift boot, carpet is very good up front, ok in rear, rear seats original and flawless, factory stereo works fine, sunroof disconnected by previous owner and is something I have not gotten around to fixing. A/C needs a recharge.
