Hey everyone, you’re bidding on a classic, hard-to-find toy with low miles. It sat for a few years and just recently was pretty much overhauled into great working order. Almost the whole fuel system was redone and runs smooth. Yes, there’s going to be some body work needed for this thing, but mechanically, it’s awesome. Why am I getting rid of it? I’m heading to AZ for school and as much as I wanted to finish making this into a project, I just simply don’t have the time or money to. So, I got it over to a guy who worked for Porsche for over 30 years, has his own shop, as well as a 928 himself, and had him go over everything to get it back into great working order. That, he did. Here’s a list of what was replaced, repaired, etc. There’s a lot of little details with things as well, I’m just going to list the major stuff and if you have more questions, of course you can ask. I’ll even include his invoice to show everything he did. Fuel tank (Genuine Porsche) Ignition switch Steering column (genuine Porsche) Bosch Battery Fuel pump (genuine Porsche) Fuel filter & sending unit Fuel hoses NGK spark plugs Air filter A bunch of covers, seals/gaskets were also replaced. Just prior to getting the car to my Porsche guy, there were a few other things done as well: Brake Master Cylinder New brake lines New brake pads The only things I’ve found that needed attention are the passenger side window track (when you put it down, it slides off the track so it stays down. Just needs to be capped), the A/C will probably need a recharge, mounting well for the battery, and various cosmetic things, dashboard, seats, body. Like I said, I had big plans for this guy but I just can’t do it now and I don’t want it to sit here doing nothing. Runs, shifts, and idles great, still feels smooth when driving and turning, definitely feel connected to the road. Currently titled in NJ. Reserve price is set & will not go lower. I’m not going to lose out on the value of this car or the work that was done to it. If you’re a 928 enthusiast, this may be a great addition to your collection with only a few more bucks to get it perfect again. If you want to offer me something, then go for it, but if you're trying to lowball me, I'll ignore you. Feel free to ask questions, deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours, the rest is due prior to taking delivery. I will help you out with shipping otherwise, it’s up to you to pick up. Ask whatever questions you have. Thanks & wish you well. On Jan-14-17 at 16:47:28 PST, seller added the following information: I've been asked several times now: As for the repairs, there was over $5500 worth of work done as I itemized above. Ergo, the reserve price will be around that. If you're looking to make an offer around that and end this quickly, go for it, I'll entertain your offer. Thanks

Up for sale is a 1986 Porsche 928 S with a 5 speed manual transmission. This model is considered a 1986.5 model, all 86.5 models received the same big brakes and suspension as the 87+ S4 model. The mileage is 89,800 and will go up a small amount as I drive the car around on the weekends. I bought the car to fix it up and have decided to move along to a 911 that I am buying. I have a clean title and the mileage is accurate. The odometer and trip odometer both work. The car runs and drives very strong. This car was used as a street track car, so some of the accessories have been deleted. The A/C is completely removed as well as the belt driven cooling fan. There is a large electric blower fan ran by a toggle switch mounted in front of the radiator for excellent cooling. The temperature gauge always stays in the middle, even idling in traffic in this 90 degree weather we have been having. The car fires right up every time, you can tell the car has good compression. No smoke on start up ever. The clutch grabs great, and the transmission operates just fine, all gears grabs with no grinding. The car tracks straight down the road and stops straight as well. The suspension is tight and the brakes are excellent with no noise. At some point the car was partially gutted. The rear hatch area is completely gutted from everything down to the body and has been plasti-dipped black. The original paint underneath is in decent shape. The body of the car is straight with no big dings or dents, there are scratches here and there and small dents associated with a nearly 30 year old car. Every panel on the car have been repainted except for the driver door and driver rear quarter panel. I have a $500 paint gauge and metered all the panels and found no bondo on any of the panels. This is not a show car, it shows well and the paint is glossy and the color looks nice. The car could really use a good detail on the body, I am sure the paint will come out looking even better. The windows go up and down no problem and the sunroof works. The headlights operate fine with no issue. Both side power seats work fine, every switch on both sides work. The dash is cracking. The steering wheel is worn pretty good, I have a new skin to go with the wheel in Genuine Brown leather. The headliner is stripped around the sunroof area, and the sunroof motor is exposed. I have over $21,000 in service records since 2006 @80,000 miles. Below are the receipts I went through and totaled up, the previous owner spared no expense on the maintenance of the car. 2/2005-$1,679-Wheels/Tires Front- 17X7.5- ET52 Porsche Cup 1Rear-17X9-ET47 Porsche Cup 1 wheels 1/2006-$6,705-Timing belt/Waterpump-@80,288 miles TIming belt, water pump, front engine seals, v/c gaskets, replace oil pan, replace steering rack, p/s hose, replace MAF. 4/2006-$7,012-Clutch/torque tube replacement @81,146 miles Disassemble transmission, new clutch, replace trans and central tube. Replace real main seal, and new oxygen sensor. 9/2007-$4,023-Intake Refresh @ 82,039 miles Intake gaskets, fuel injector, manifold gaskets, all new fuel pressure regulators, plugs, compression test, etc. Compression numbers:cylinder 1-150, Cylinder 2-160, cylinder 3-150, cylinder 4-170, cylinder 5-170, cylinder 6-150, cylinder 7-160, cylinder 8-150. 6/2013-$701.96-New tires New Good Year Eagle GT 225/45/R17 all around. 05/2015-$950-New Parts I replaced all intake runner boots and clamps with genuine Porsche new. Genuine $300 Rebuilt right rear axle (not installed), steering wheel brown leather skin (not installed), replaced the alternator cooling duct with genuine. Comes with new "Porsche, 928 S" decals (not installed). 2 new rear hatch shocks (not installed). Things to address: The right rear axle inner boot is torn, I have a brand new genuine re-manufactured axle that needs to be installed. The climate control unit does not work at all, no blower, nothing. The radio works, only gets sound out of the driver side speakers, I never cared about this. The passenger side door cannot be opened from pulling the handle on the outside, it must be opened from the inside. The rear hatch shocks are shot and do not hold the hatch up, I have two new ones that go with the car. The car has an exhaust leak, I believe it is coming out right before cats on the Y-Pipe under the shielding. The cats are in good shape! The instrument cluster bulbs are burned out, at night time the cluster is dim. If you are looking for an excellent driving 86.5 928 S with a rare 5 speed manual and low mileage for cheap, this is your car. Put a roll cage in, do some minor work, suspension and you have yourself an awesome street/track car. Figure this car sits around 3,000 pounds with over 300 HP! The car was put on a dynometer in 2009 and put down 247 HP and 274 TQ at the wheels! I tried to describe the car the best I could, I am here to hide nothing. I am looking to get me money back on the car and move along. Bring a plate and drive her home!

Listed is a beautiful 1981 Porsche 928. This is Porsche luxury GT (grand tourer), which is the first production Porsche with a V8 engine. Large, 4.5L 229 hp V8 is really an amazing thing to listen to. This car was amazingly engineered, especially considering 1981 standards. 50/50 weight distribution, amazing handling, super comfortable cabin, galvanized steel and aluminum body to decrease weight, amazing aerodynamic look (iconic in Risky Business and Scarface)...this was truly a supercar of its time. Only 17-18000 were made worldwide. I am the third owner, and bought this car from a collector. I've owned this car for approximately 5 years, and have only logged 7-8000 miles total. This is a summer driver, and has not seen snow or ice on my watch. Comfortably garage kept. All the necessary maintenance was done by Porsche mechanics, and the expensive timing belt repair (928 owners have nightmares about this) was done less than 2000 miles ago. The car is a driver's car, not a show car. It has small scratches on the body and front fender/bumper. The body is straight, with no rust to my knowledge. The car has never been in any accidents. The sunroof works, as do all the gauges. The odometer was replaced immediately after it stopped working a few years prior. The mileage is original; less than 100 thousand miles on the odometer is extremely hard to find on cars of this age. The A/C and heat do work, although all of the fan settings do not. The rear windshield wipers does not work. Again, these are things that didn't bother me, so I didn't fix. The driver's side seat has tears, of which I've included a picture. A trim shop fixed some of the ceiling leather, which was detached in a few places. The dashboard leather also peeled back over time. A replacement cover was placed by the trim shop as well, and does look cosmetically appealing. I had a basic Alpine head unit installed (CD player/Ipod input, etc). All in all, this is a lot of fun to drive. It really hits its stride at 55. Completely smooth acceleration after that, and you can get to 80 or more pretty quickly and effortlessly. Again, this car was made to go on long trips (across Europe) in style and comfort. This car is not intended to beat a Mustang off the block. The care has been well maintained, and has many more years ahead of it. It needs to be maintained. Many of the 928s were not cared for properly, and are now scrap metal. These are classic Porsches, which will probably appreciate in the future (look at the 1980s 911s!) I've tried to describe this car as honestly as I could. Again, she is 34 years old. The car does not come with any type of warranty. Sales are final. Cashier's checks will be cashed at my bank and given a week to clear, and then the car can be towed by your towing company right to your door (or mechanic). Clean NJ title, and the car has passed a recent inspection. Please contact me with any questions, more pics, etc. Thanks for looking.

Go back 35 years in this 928 finished Grand Prix White with matching wheels over tan interior. Overall it is in good condition and runs very well. We at Powertech Select Motorcars recently purchased this from a gentleman who owned it for over 20 years. Since then, we had Powertech in Rockaway, NJ go over the car, replacing the timing belt and fixing an oil leak. We do not have a lot of history on the car, but overall seems to be a very solid car. It has a Behr radiator. Cosmetically it is fair to good, with multiple panels being repainted, paint chipping in areas and minor surface rust in a couple of areas (see pictures). The interior is in good condition for it's age/mileage. Most notable issues is the tears in the driver seat (see picture), the reason why the owner purchased the seat covers. Check out the car phone still wired in! The tires have good tread and in good shape, but are old. This would be a great first Porsche or for someone that loves the classic look of the 928 or even for someone that wants to feel like Tom Cruise in Risky Business, all at a very reasonable price. PPI welcome.
