This particular Porsche has been reconditioned, cosmetically and mechanically to a healthy driver condition. This car is a blast to drive. It is a very clean car that has been well kept over the years. This beautiful 912 has had a 911 bumper and ALL STEEL body panel conversion from a later model to give it a more recognizably sporty look. This car turns heads everywhere and is truly an experience to pilot! The following is a list of options as this 912 is currently equipped: -1.6L Flat Four Cylinder Engine (1969 Dated) -4 Speed Manual Transmission -Fuchs 16" Aluminum Rims -Yokohama Radial Tires -Leather Bucket Seats -5 Gauge Dash with Tachometer -Aftermarket Sound System -Later model 911 SC Look Conversion The exterior of the car is re-finished close to its original color of Guards Red. The car has had only one re-spray its life and was a nice job. Overall the paint is a nice driver quality paint job, which was nicely wet sanded and buffed afterwards, but does show some paint chipping down on front fenders by the bonnet edge that have been touched up. Same on roof at windshield gasket edge where some paint pulled away when the window gasket was removed. The body is totally solid and is as straight as an arrow, showing no evidence of bodywork or accidents. All door gaps appear to be factory original and correct. The 911SC conversion was done nicely with factory parts, as it appears to be very close to stock. The car did just receive a new windshield and gaskets. The floor pans in the car are in over all good shape. The car was not a rust belt car and all suspension, wheel arches and inner fenders and rockers are beautifully rust free. The car does have a few pin holes on floor pans due to water ingress over the years from leaky window gaskets and has had a been patched in a few small spots. Front battery tray area is nice and lower front pan under bonnet has been professionally replaced. -The car is riding on nicely polished 16" Fuchs wheels. The tires are 16" Yokohama radials and are near new. The very nice factory black interior is like new and looks excellent. The seats, door panels, carpet, and headliner all looks perfect and really set the car off. All the gauges and lights work as they should. The original radio and speakers were replaced with an older Alpine sound system that sounds great. All the courtesy lights as well as all the running lights work as they should. Also the lights, horn, turn signals, defroster, and even the lighter work. All the glass and rubbers look excellent. The windows setups and door panels were swapped out with those of a later model 911 that had power windows. Everything with the swap was done right and is fully functional. Mechanically, this 912 is in excellent condition! The engine compartment is clean as a whistle and shows how well this car was kept. A local Porsche shop in Tempe, AZ, looked the car over for me and did a few small things including repairing linkage and going through and dialing in and servicing the carbs, and performing a fresh service. The car was given a clean bill of health and I was told the motor has excellent leakdown compression! Car is very tight and leaks almost no oil! The Engine and Trans are factory Porsche components, not Volkswagen components that often make their way into these chassis. The suspension is tight and true and handles as a Porsche should. The odometer reads a bit under 88000 miles, which is believed to be correct by the Actual Miles title. All systems work and the car has zero issues and is a true pleasure to drive. This little diamond and is ready for the next cruise night or car show. The bonnet is in excellent condition and still retains new carpeting as well as the space saver spare with the original jack. One year only car and one of 500 sunroof cars! Very rare original color of Copper Brown Metallic. Only 67,000 miles since new, this car has always been pampered and carefully maintained. All original interior with the exception of the front seats which have been redone. Very clean with no smells or major flaws whatsoever. Dash and gauges look like new. Sunroof works perfect and does not leak. Stereo upgraded to a later model Blaupunkt CD player and Boston acoustics speakers. One repaint on the exterior that was done very professionally about 20 years ago. It still shines great, but has many small flaws due to age and use. Most notable flaws are front end rock chip road rash and some thin spots on the hood from over buffing. The door jambs, under hood, and engine compartment still retain original paint and they did a good job of masking it off with minimal overspray. This car has absolutely no rust or rust repairs, it was always a California and Arizona car. No evidence of any body damage, all of the panels are laser straight with excellent gaps throughout. Runs great and does not smoke or leak. Its a little finicky on cold starts and you have to feather the throttle a bit , but warms up after a minute and runs flawlessly. All original drivetrain. 5 speed transmission shifts flawlessly. The Forged Fuch rims were professionally restored and are flawless...Michelin tires are near new. Spare has never been used. Has tool Kit, original owners manual, and window sticker from Carlsen Porsche Audi in Palo Alto for delivery in Culver City, CA. All original interior with the exception of the front seats which have been redone. Very clean with no smells or major flaws whatsoever. Dash and gauges look like new. Sunroof works perfect and does not leak. Stereo upgraded to a later model Blaupunkt CD player and Boston acoustics speakers. One repaint on the exterior that was done very professionally about 20 years ago. It still shines great, but has many small flaws due to age and use. Most notable flaws are front end rock chip road rash and some thin spots on the hood from over buffing. The door jambs, under hood, and engine compartment still retain original paint and they did a good job of masking it off with minimal overspray. This car has absolutely no rust or rust repairs, it was always a California and Arizona car. No evidence of any body damage, all of the panels are laser straight with excellent gaps throughout. Runs great and does not smoke or leak. Its a little finicky on cold starts and you have to feather the throttle a bit , but warms up after a minute and runs flawlessly. All original drivetrain. 5 speed transmission shifts flawlessly. The Forged Fuch rims were professionally restored and are flawless...Michelin tires are near new. Spare has never been used. The "Prototyp" Museum collection in Hamburg, Germany includes a 912E preseries vehicle constructed utilizing a 911 Chassis No. 911 520 1617 and four-cylinder VW-Porsche 90HP 2.0L Type 4 similar to the late-model 2.0L 914/4.[2] Once in production, the 912E was powered by an 86 bhp 2.0 L Volkswagen air-cooled engine, refined with a new Bosch L-Jetronic (Air Flow Controlled) fuel injection system. The 912E occupied the entry-level position left vacant by the discontinuation of the 914, while the new 924 – another Porsche-Volkswagen joint effort vehicle and the 914's official replacement – was being finalized and put into production. During the production run of May 1975 to July 1976, Porsche manufactured nearly 2,100 of the 912E, targeted to the United States market.
