This 1950 Porsche Split Window coupe comes with its Kardex/Certificate of Authenticity from the Porsche factory and I also have a Certificate of ownership/title in my name so shipping this 1950 Split coupe out of the country is not a problem. Spending 4 ½ years of metalwork, this rare 1st production year Split 356 window coupe is currently in bare metal for your personal inspection and ready for a proper nut & bolt restoration! Original color is Adria Blue Metallic with a Grey Corduroy interior. When I acquired the car, it still sported most of its original paint. I have listed all the parts that I have collected over the years to assemble this Coupe. 1100cc 1950 aluminum block with new pistons/cylinders/rings and pins, 64mm 10/10 fresh crankshaft with new main/rod bearings, balanced rods, new camshaft, heads, 32 PBJ carburetors, intake manifolds, 383 distributor, “mushroom air cleaners”. Restored Veigal black/white faced speedometer and clock, round chrome wire windshield wipers, NOS rotary headlight switch, Petri banjo steering wheel, steering tube/shaft, inside/outside door handles, cigarette ash tray with ivory handle, rear view mirror, ignition switch, starter button, 2 sun visors, dashboard, 4 wooden door caps, 4 dash warning lights, dash top turn signal switch, both front seats, 2 Split windshields, pedal assembly, 2 doors with 2 window winders, door glass, rear glass, rear ¼ window glass, aluminum Reutter fender badge, front hood, rear decklid, fuel tank, full crash transaxle with correct transmission hoop, (5) original 1950 solid 16” wheels, emergency brake handle assembly, Hella square glass tail lights with bases and chrome bezels, pointy clear front/rear red turn signal lens with bases and bezels, license light and bracket with red stop light lens, front and rear bumpers with bumper brackets, front and rear grooved aluminum bumper trim and aluminum deco body trim.This is the 1st. year of production for Porsche. Its also the 1st year Porsche relocated their location from Gmund, Austria to their current location today in Stuttgart, Germany. According to records, a TOTAL of 343 1950 production Porsche Split coupes were ever built. The last chassis number for calendar year, 1950 was #5410. Note that this is a 4 digit car built in 1950 (see Kardex) and NOT a 4 digit car built in 1951. BIG DIFFERENCE! Today, only a handful 1950 coupes exist in various forms from total basket cases to complete museum show cars. This car would be the center piece to anyone starting a 356 collection.
