A month a go if I had chose to sell this 50k mile pristine "one owner" 1998 Trans Am it would have been listed at around $20k. I have searched and there are about a dozen available now with 50k or less miles around the country currently. Based on the upgrades I have done would not have added any value to the car as a pristine example but As you can see the car cosmetically was destroyed when my garage burned a month ago and is now salvage and not worth repair. At this point if the car had been completely stock the car would be worth about $4k which is what you can find a LS1 & 6 speed on eBay any day of the week, but wait there's more! This car had plenty of extras on the drive train that has not been damaged in the slightest and trust me today or next week or next month is worth a hell of a lot more than a used 50k drive train. $8k rebuild on motor, bigger cam, some head porting nothing major and a bump in compression. The rear end has a 4:11 Detroit locker posi installed, $500, Larger throttle body, mass airflow sensor and airbox $750, stock T-56 6 speed which does need freshning but even still as a core is $750, brand new factory clutch and pressure plate $750, eibach lowering springs $400, new tires/wheels $2500, Borla exhaust (admittedly first upgrade) was $1000 now free, and finally a HP Tuners programming software and dual oxygen sensors for fuel mapping in the boxes $800. I am the first to know you never get back what you put in a car but in this case there is $14k worth of rolling stock so asking $9k obo puts me right at 50% of value. Let alone the few remaining parts such as head lights $250 each and other items as well. This is not a rebuild able car but what it is to the right person a perfect drive train for a muscle car or a street rod, nothing more nothing less. If any of you need me to do a burnout or show the car driving via YouTube to show you it is very strong then let me know. Going forward is the original add that was posted. (Have a great day!) ***** This is a 1998 Trans Am WS6. I purchased this car new in 1998. It only has 50k miles on the car. The car was involved in a garage fire and was totaled by my insurance company. The damage is exterior only and did not damage the drivetrain or wheels and tires. The engine has less than 500 miles on a $8k rebuild. Motor was rebuilt due to spun rod bearing. Original motor rated 320HP. Car did 12.2 sec qtr mile stock which calculates to 415HP. Car although never dynoed should be 450 HP range now and can be demonstrated since car can still drive. It has the 6 speed , 4:11 detroit locker posi rear end. It has new wheels and tires Toyo Proxes 275 30zr19 front and 285 30zr19 in the rear. Eibach lowering performance springs. Upgraded BBK throttle body, SLP Mass airflow sensor, SLP Air Box and Borla Exhaust. I Also have a HP Tuners Kit for the car that was never used and the Oxygen sensor kit for mapping a custom ECU fuel map. The car starts and drives and would make a great powertrain for an older muscle car or street rod.
