It's every bit the beastly muscle car you want, but you won't feel guilty driving it regularly. The '67 model year is known even among GTO aficionados as the best-looking of the run, and this one is no exception. Start with those, round headlamps stacked vertically at the far ends of the nose: 1967 was the last year for that feature, and future cars would have a more conventional horizontal headlamp setup. Those headlamps bookend the split, mesh-patterned grille with an inset GTO badge. The natural crease at the nose leads up to the hood scoop and down to the large, chrome wraparound bumper. The chrome treatment continues in a wide strip all the way down the sides and to the back, with true dual exhaust pipes exiting just below the chrome rear bumper. Eight narrow horizontal taillights are another feature you'll only find on a GTO. The handsome factory Rally II wheels look great, and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires with raised white letters are always a good-looking choice for a muscle car. This car's blue paint is well done and in very good condition. It has good shine and deep color, with only a few small signs of use because you are going to want to drive this one. If you look across all that bodywork and into the windows, you'll notice a gold interior that beautifully complements the dark blue paint, providing a visual accent through the glass and inviting you to slip into those vinyl-clad bucket seats. We believe the seats have been reupholstered in their factory gold color, and it appears to be a quality job. The rest of the interior appears to have aged well: The wood grain appliques are still present and still sticking, the padded dashboard is not cracked or sun-faded. Though the interior does show wear here and there, but is in very good condition overall. Adding to the driving excitement, a Hurst dual-gate "His and Hers" shifter for this TH-400 automatic lets you select the gears manually by sliding the shifter into a secondary gate. Give that key a twist - it's mounted on the dashboard, next to the AM radio - and listen to 400 cubic inches rumbling to life. It's all engine under the hood: this car appears to have a period correct YS block and runs great. An upgraded Holley carburetor lives under the original louvered air cleaner. Under the hood is a clean place to be. The engine wears a sharp coat of Pontiac Turquoise paint and clean, chrome valve covers that match the air cleaner. The Pontiac GTO, the most famous of muscle cars, will inspire guilt in the eyes of your friends and colleagues. This particular example is not only as beautiful as they come, but it's affordable enough that you won't have to feel guilty any time you take it out for a spin. After all, if you're going to own something that turns as many heads as a GTO, you might as well get out on the road and actually get those heads turning. 1967 Pontiac GTO for Sale 1967 Pontiac GTO for Sale Stock # 1579-DFW Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] Tampa Showroom 4610 Pet Lane Lutz, FL 33559 Local/International: (813) 501-1630 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. We've offered a lot of resto mods, but few have captured the pure Pontiac essence and transformed it into a 21st century warrior like this 1965 Pontiac GTO 2-door. Offering Pontiac power, modern conveniences, and one of the slickest paint jobs we've seen in a long time, this is the GTO for the guy who loves Pontiacs but doesn't need them to be stock. Basic black always works and in the case of this slick resto-modded Goat, it's the only logical choice. The 2-door post cars don't get much love, but it's hard to imagine this one any other way and you quickly overlook that detail once you see the incredible bodywork. A few trim pieces have been shaved, most notably the door handles and the window surrounds, but the rest remains unmistakably Pontiac, from the stacked headlights that were new for 1965 to the beautifully blacked out taillight lenses. In fact, there's not much on this car that isn't black, and to get it to look that good required a lot of time, a lot of money, and a lot of talent. But the results speak for themselves and you get a car that demands attention everywhere it goes. All of the original GTO emblems remain in place, albeit also blacked out, and they left the bumpers and grille surround in chrome, just to add a little contrast. It works extremely well, making this a fantastic-looking GTO. The interior does the same kind of magic by taking the stock look and tweaking it just a little bit. Standard Pontiac buckets with diagonal seat covers are familiar, but they've been stitched in supple black leather rather than vinyl and include a bright red Pontiac chevron in the centers. Cool, right? There's also a custom center console housing a trio of auxiliary gauges and a pair of vents for the Vintage Air HVAC system, as well as the Lokar shifter for the 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The main instruments are standard GTO with nicely restored faces in a flashy engine-turned panel, as original. It also includes a custom tilt column with leather-wrapped wheel that looks strangely familiar, as well as a powerful AM/FM/iPod stereo system that sounds fantastic. Workmanship is extremely impressive, as even the trunk is fully finished for a very clean look. Don't worry, Pontiac fans, there's still Poncho power under the hood, in this case a 421 cubic inch V8 that's a remarkably tidy fit. The firewall has been smoothed, which undoubtedly helps, but the rest looks like it belongs there. Obviously everything is new, from the accessory drive to the Edelbrock intake to the cool blacked-out valve covers, as well as all the engine's internals. A roller camshaft with gear drive gives it a distinctive sound and the lightweight aluminum heads keep this big engine in a welterweight class, so handling is sharp. A giant BeCool aluminum radiator and electric fans keep it cool and things like power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes from Baer are included. Long-tube headers and a pair of Flowmasters provide just the right tone and the suspension is upgraded with global West A-arms, upgraded shocks, and a Hotchkiss rear setup. 3.73 gears on a Posi in the 10-bolt rear end give it explosive acceleration but with overdrive, it's an easy highway driver. Classic Torque Thrust wheels are the right choice and wear 17-inch Kumho radials. Expertly built and deadly fast, this awesome GTO lives up to the legend in every possible way and will make onlookers stay for a second and even a third look. Like I said, we've never featured one that was nicer. If you appreciate these cars as they were and not as the mythology would have us believe, then this one will delight you every time you get behind the wheel. The GTO is one of the few muscle cars that can also be considered elegant. While they were great at tearing up tracks all over the country, they were equally adept at carrying executives to the office and showing up at exclusive nightspots for front-row parking. The code D Fontaine Blue paint only enhances that image, applied over a laser-straight body that any car guy can recognize from 100 yards away. Stripped down to its bare essentials and rebuilt from there, it's the kind of car that only gets more attractive the more you look at it and makes the cars around it look shabby by comparison. Modern paints provide a great shine, but that only comes with hours of intensive hand labor, but nobody will argue that the results aren't worth it, because this car looks great with only a few signs of age and use. And as you'd expect of a car like this, the chrome and trim were restored, the GTO badges are bright, and the glass has the proper vintage Soft-Ray tint. Even the white vinyl top was replaced and it's just dazzling today. For purists, it just doesn't get much better than this in terms of high-quality driver-grade GTOs. Few interiors are more inviting than the GTO's, and with bucket seats and a center console, it emphasizes the Goat's dual nature. Reproduction seat covers duplicate the original intricate ribbed pattern, there are correct carpets on the floor, and fresh door panels don't show so much as a mark from a driver's elbow resting on the sill. All the gauges have been rebuilt and nestled back into their round pods in the woodgrained dash, and they're all in good condition with clear lenses and clear markings. The factory-issued AM radio works, too, although it needs to be reconnected to the antenna; besides, you'll probably find the entertainment connected to your right foot to be far more suitable anyway. And yes, that's a 4-speed shifter sticking out of the center console, so it's a blast to drive. In back, the trunk has been expertly finished and topped with a correct mat and full-sized spare with jack assembly. The engine is a correct WS block with the proper coding, so we believe it to be the original 389 cubic inch V8 with Tri-Power. Pontiac knew its customers would be spending a lot of time under the GTO's hood tuning and tweaking, so they added plenty of eye candy for the genuine car guys who'd be owning them. Every mechanical system, including the engine, transmission, rear end, suspension, and brakes were fully rebuilt and only driven enough to ensure that everything is in fully operational condition (about 500 miles). Pontiac Turquoise contrasts nicely with chrome valve covers and individual air cleaners, and they got all the little stuff right, too, including the reproduction decal on the fan shroud. Underneath, the floors are perhaps a bit too nice, but that's hardly a demerit, and the exhaust system is a Flowmaster setup so it sounds spectacular. The only major addition is four-wheel power disc brakes, endowing this Goat with stopping power to match its performance. Stock steel wheels with polished trim rings are framed by 225/70/14 white-letter radials for a great performance look. Documented with restoration photos and PHS paperwork, this is a high-quality GTO that runs and drives superbly. Even among GTO fans, the '67 stands out as a high water mark in terms of styling. This sleek hardtop has been beautifully restored from top to bottom and offers several desirable options and upgrades that earn it a spot on most enthusiasts' short list of cars to own before they die. Originally code T, Montego Cream, the restorer wisely chose to keep it that way to create an unusual GTO that stands out from all the red and blue cars out there. The result is an unusual and super clean Goat that speaks very softly and carries a big stick. If the most famous muscle car of all time could be considered a sleeper, this might be it. But a low profile doesn't mean this one didn't get restored right. Quite the opposite, in fact. With a low-profile color, it's the detail and the quality that make it stand out, from the laser-straight quarter panels, to the panel gaps, to the restored trim and badges, this car is all about getting the little stuff right. Up front the stacked headlights and split grille are Pontiac trademarks, with wire mesh inserts that recall European sports cars that inspired the GTO. In back, a re-chromed bumper and slotted taillights leave no question about the car's identity, even though Pontiac kept the GTO badges subtle. Heck, there's not even a vinyl roof to make this one jump out at you, and for many of us, that low-key look is insanely appealing. The black interior is an excellent choice when contrasting with the blue exterior, and gives the car a purposeful look that's the epitome of Pontiac's blend of style and performance. According to the cowl tag, this is an original bucket seat/console car, and the seats have been masterfully reupholstered using materials that match the originals for texture and pattern. Both the carpets and dash pad are brand new and the door panels are excellent. Other cool options include that trick "his-and-hers" shifter, cold factory A/C, and a factory AM radio that's probably overdue for replacement. The woodgrain dash appliques are in good condition with no peeling or fading (they are, after all, just decals), and the deep dish steering wheel is a perfect representation of the '60s; surely you already have a pair of string-back driving gloves, right? The trunk is neat and simple, with a correct mat and full-sized spare with a matching cover. The engine is the original, numbers-matching 400 cubic inch V8, and has been rebuilt to stock specs, although we suspect there's an upgraded cam inside. Detailed with Pontiac Turquoise paint on the block and chrome valve covers, it keeps a low profile that will satisfy purists but delivers the kind of punch that even today's drivers will find impressive. Both power steering and power brakes are part of the package, making this a very user-friendly Goat that can do it all. The great-sounding engine feeds a bulletproof TH400 3-speed automatic and 12-bolt rear differential with a 2.93 Saf-T-Track limited slip inside. The suspension has been fully rebuilt, the floors are in good shape, and the cackling Flowmaster exhaust has just the right attitude for the '60s' most famous muscle car. Pretty factory Rally II wheels always look great, and the 235/60/15 BFGoodrich radials complete the sleeper look. There are plenty of GTOs out there, but not many capture this one's clean look, potent powerplant, and outstanding pedigree, all documented with the proper PHS papers. And if you're a fan of driving, this bright red 1970 Pontiac GTO hardtop offers everything you'd want, ranging from a stout 400 cubic inch V8 to vivid red paint, all at a very appealing price. Having lived most of its life out west, the bodywork on this car is in great shape. That's a big plus on a car that's 45 years old and it made the perfect foundation for the bright red paint. The cowl tag says this one was originally code 58 Granada Gold, but who's going to argue with how it looks today? The Endura front bumper was a pretty big deal in 1970 and gives the Goat a uniquely Pontiac look, and today it shows well with only minor signs of age and use, which only means it's working as intended. The Ram Air hood and rear wing are both ways that this GTO suggests that you leave it alone on the street, although the black vinyl roof gives it a bit of formality and the contrast is very appealing. Correct GTO emblems and badges are in place and the bright chrome rear bumper is in excellent condition. The red bucket seat interior is an awesome choice when you're used to seeing plain old black all the time, and the high-back buckets look especially good in the performance-oriented GTO. This one seems to be pretty well loaded with options like factory A/C, power windows, and a tilt steering column, plus a later AM/FM/cassette stereo system in the dash. The upholstery is in good shape and showing only minor signs of age and use, and it appears that the gauges themselves are original, more evidence of a nicely-kept car. Engine-turned dash panels are a Pontiac trademark and the three-spoke steering wheel is pure 1970s cool that practically screams performance. Oddly enough, this car has a column shifter, which is an odd choice on a GTO, but that's part of why muscle cars are so popular today; those odd combinations make some of them quite rare. You can see signs of clean west-coast living in the trunk, which appears to wear factory-applied spatter paint and some pretty darned nice sheetmetal. Despite what the air cleaner says, there's a strong-running Pontiac 400 cubic inch V8 under the hood and it delivers the kind of performance you'd expect from the flagship GTO. It's a 1969 Ram Air III engine with a pretty stout torque curve and it's a neat fit in the Goat's satin black engine bay. It looks quite stock and unless you're a Pontiac expert, I'm guessing most folks will never notice the swap took place. Regardless, it runs well, pulls hard, and has a great eight cylinder growl from the recently replaced dual exhaust system underneath. It's backed by a rugged TH400 3-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear end, so you don't have to worry about running it hard. You can see evidence of its life in California and Arizona when you look underneath and it sits exactly right on a set of Pontiac Rally II wheels and 235/60/14 Firestone radials. Documented with ownership history back to day one, PHS paperwork, and a few other goodies, this is a great driver-grade Goat that's ready to enjoy without the massive price tag. Virtually stock outside, but with a thunderous 428 cubic inch Poncho under the hood, it's an early GTO that definitely lives up to the legend. This was a project that went all-out to create the ultimate Goat. Designed to impress, the bodywork was straightened, smoothed, and finessed into shape with enough care to make it stand out at shows. Sheetmetal is quite straight, including those long quarter panels, and you'll note in the photos that the doors are neatly centered in their openings and the gaps around the hood and trunk lid are precise. Since the joy was in the journey, this team took their time to get it right, and the results are evident. The paint is correct code N Burgundy, which looks fabulous on the vintage Pontiac body and thanks to modern urethane paint technology, it'll probably look this good for another 45 years. It's a few years old, so it's not perfect anymore and nobody can argue that the 1967 GTO wasn't a slam-dunk in the appearance department. All the GTO emblems were replaced, the chrome bumpers were refinished, and the mesh grille is crisp and sharp. And yes, this is a real code 42 GTO, not a rebadged Tempest or Lemans. The interior was treated to all-new black upholstery, which is a correct rendering of its original 223-R combination. Using high-quality reproduction seat covers, new carpets, and beautifully detailed door panels, it has a very vintage and correct vibe inside. The black anchors the interior and keeps things subtle but the crisply detailed seats are definitely something you're going to want to show off. Options include the center console, complete with Hurst shifter for the 4-speed underneath, and it has all been restored to factory-fresh condition with new wood appliques. And yes, Pontiac fans, this car has factory A/C with all the components still intact. A set of auxiliary gauges under the dash help monitor the big V8 up front and an older Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo head unit has been snugged into the original dash location. The completely detailed trunk offers a fresh mat and a full-sized spare which wears its own matching cover, as well as the expected spatter-finish paint job. The big news in this GTO is under the hood, where the original 389 was jettisoned and replaced by a muscle-bound 428 cubic inch V8 with Tri-Power. Thanks to Pontiac's use of the same block for almost all of their V8s of the period, it's a neat fit and while it won't pass for stock anymore, it's definitely a Tin Indian. From the body-colored engine enamel paint to the chrome valve covers, it looks right, although the braided stainless fuel lines kind of give things away. It exhales through a set of long-tube exhaust headers and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system, so it has that sound you've been looking for and the undercarriage, while not detailed, is certainly quite presentable. The 4-speed manual gearbox feeds a robust 12-bolt rear with a fat sway bar under it, so it's got handling to match its looks. Other notable upgrades include the lowered stance that's exactly right and a set of shiny Cragar mags wearing 215/65/15 BFGoodrich white letter radials that look great on the vintage Goat. Delivering the kind of performance that GTO fans expect, this awesome red hardtop is a wolf in goat's clothing. Dressed in a great color combination and packing a legendary 400-inch V8 which is also the original numbers matching block, it's the car you never thought you could afford, now within reach. Those three letters G-T-O still command respect on the street today, and with this subtle Code 73 Verdoro Green hardtop, it'll usually be too late before anyone notices the badges on the side. The paint was done a while ago, so while it still looks shiny and perfectly captures the right gold undertones, it won't hold you back from going out and having some fun with your new Pontiac muscle car. The bodywork is quite good and the gaps are good, so when you show up in this car, people are going to notice and they're going to be impressed. Add in the Endura front bumper, a pair of hood scoops, and a minimum of add-ons, and you get a car that's at once threatening and sophisticated, which was exactly the GTO's mission. There isn't much chrome, but the stuff that's there, including the grille and rear bumper, is all in good order. Code B means a black vinyl top, and it's in such good condition that we have to believe that it's been replaced at some point and the workmanship is good enough to pass for OEM. Bucket seats flanking a console are really the only way to travel in a GTO, and the black upholstery in this hardtop nails the original look. The seat covers have proper Pontiac chevrons on the seat backs and while there are a few signs of use and age, the look is inviting and comfortable, not worn. A woodgrained center console features a very cool B&M shifter that feels great in your hand even though it's linked to an automatic transmission. The deeply recessed gauges cover only the basics, but that's OK because the car works so well and the mechanicals are so robust that they don't need constant monitoring. The factory AM radio still lives in the dash and the original wheel now carries a black leather wrapper to help improve the grip factor a bit. Nice carpets and door panels add a finished feel to the interior and the trunk is outfitted with a vintage redline spare tire. The 400 cubic inch V8 has a reputation to maintain and it works exceedingly well at moving the sleek hardtop around with authority. Correct Pontiac Turquoise paint on the original numbers matching block looks bright and clean in the satin black engine bay, and when you top it with a bit of chrome, it takes on a highly detailed look. There's a Holley 4-barrel in place of the original Quadrajet, but that the extent of the modifications, so it runs and drives well without ever getting fussy. The TH400 3-speed automatic shifts well and reacts quickly to a prod on the accelerator and the Flowmaster dual exhaust system delivers an awesome sound to match. It's pretty original underneath, so it's not all shiny and perfect, but without any undercoating, there's no place for major issues to hide. Factory Rally II wheels look sporty and carry staggered 215/70/14 front and 225/70/14 rear white-letter radials for a bit of a rake. Affordable GTOs don't come along often, and this is one performance car whose subtle looks ensure that it under-promises and over-delivers.
