This car is ready for a complete restoration. The real deal 242 pontiac GTO 400 4 speed.The motor is original and runs incredibly smooth. As you can see it had some front end damage but I have been lucky to come across many replacement parts that weren't cheap but are absolutely necessary: endura nose, front valance, headlight buckets all off a 72, and a 1971 hood that I was lucky to find out of Montana. The inserts for the hood are here also. There are also some parts in the trunk for the front end rebuild such as the latch so you will save a bit of money there. The original stereo is also in the trunk. I put about $1000 into a new fuel pump and new clutch and getting the breaks loose so it could be driven down the road after I first purchased it many years ago. It was driven home from the shop but otherwise has been garaged and started up once a week or so. I didn't get a picture of the cowl tag but can send one when i get it. The original color is copper canyon paint with saddle brown interior. With this 400 4 speed you won't find a better project car. Bidding starts at $10,000 with no reserve price. I will do my best to answer questions promptly. I have many more pictures. The title is in hand in my name and is a clear title.

We have owned this vehicle since we purchased it in show room condition from Hertz of Phoenix, AZ. The car had 27,000 miles approx at that time and for the next 23,000 miles I drove it as a comuter at 50,000 miles the manufacture installed a new transmission as the factory original had defects and have never had any trouble with it since. The car has endured a smoke free enviroment since our ownership. For the last 15 yrs my wife has been the prime driver racking up only 1500 miles per yr average. The car has been garaged for most of the time that we have owned it and mechanically the vehicle is in good condition, we resently had the car go through a complete checkup/service replacing all belts and hoses, pulled the gas tank and cleaned and replaced fuel pump and filters, upgraded and installed a new Airconditioning system, replaced all oil and lubricants and brake & Power steering hydraulic fluids, Installed new windshield wipers, checked brakes were ok, had vehicle smogged and safety checked pass as always with flying colors, also had new tires installed. I have all maintenance records since we first purchased the car. The only deffered maintenance I know of that should be put on the to do list at some point is replacement of front struts and rear shocks. If you are wondering why we are selling it, it is only because my son just gave us a new car.
