Here is an under the radar Firebird Formula 1st year of the body refresh and LS1 killer engine that is very sweet...67k miles obviously highway as there is no wear even on the drivers seat bolster. The 1998 refresh carried these until 2002 so it looks exactly the same as an 02... Yes-there are a ton of Gen 4 Firebirds out there-most have been thrashed, trashed, raced, modded, tuned, whatever-this is NOT one of those! Strong smooth Ls1 starts instantly, pulls strong and quietly with just a hint of burble and a nice little roar when kicked in. Transmission is smooth and tight-no groans or moans from the pump or the power steering either-tracks fantastic and rides well for a sporty car-no rattles or clunks from body or suspension. No door dings, scrapes or bumps-a few tiny rock chips from normal driving on the hood-here and there-no fading on trim or loss of gloss in paint. Lights open and close correctly and work 100%. T-Tops fit perfect and seals are like new. Just replaced all 6 woofers in stereo-factory monsoon really kicks on CD. Power antenna functions properly. 2 sets of wheels and tires are available-pristine factory 16 inch alloys with new tires 245/50/16 about 1000 miles on the tires. Just mounted a brand new set of BF Goodrich 275/40/17 A/S 2 tires on a very good set of Factory Speedline wheels in polished aluminum from a 2002 WS6 Trans-AM-center caps are also brand new. If you make me an offer please indicate if you want the original rims, WS6 or both as that obviously factors in to what I will consider accepting. Dash and door panels are clean and crack free-transmission shifts as it should and carries the base highway gears at 2.73 ratio with posi traction. Even the exhaust and mufflers are original stock-obviously this car was pampered and has absolutely no rust. Optima battery with a 2012 date-redtop-these are good for 7-10 years. Fresh oil change with Mobil 1, Fresh transmission fluid exchange with Mobil 1 ATF. Air filter is fresh stock paper element. Starts runs drives like new. Brakes are smooth with no pull or pulsation. A/C is cold and heat is hot. This car is a base formula, NOT a WS6 but I like the wheels-you have the option as the next owner or take both for a change of pace??? Here is a very nice mild restomod built in 2002. Runs and drives excellent. Receipts for body and paint total over $10k. Interior $3k and drivetrain $4k. 85k miles when done-currently 92k. Includes repro of original window sticker as well as copy of magazine feature story from 2007. Garage kept on a tender and under a cover since purchased from 2nd owner who did the build at Carlisle in 2011. The engine is now a 400 so that is not numbers matching but 4 speed manual trans and rear are. Has headers and flowmaster exhaust-stock or mild cam. Sounds mean but not real lopey-I can text you a short video of it running. Power disk brakes and sure grip differential-manual steering, non-A/C car. This is the only year for the GTO in the X body. Also the only year for shaker hood-and yes, it's functional. Paint and body are better than new-bumpers have been narrowed and set in closer to the body for a cleaner look. Will consider a trade for a 70-73 Firebird Formula cash either way depending on condition...small chip on shaker and small ding in hood are only real outer flaws-front and rear windows were reset and all weather strip replaced-doors shut easily and line up well with no rattles-this car is sweet...questions?
