1967 FIREBIRD 455 HO SD AUTOMATIC This rare bird is the first firebird ever made. It has a 455 freshly built engine, balanced .030 over, forged pop up pistons, mild camshaft. Factory size forged steel crankshaft, factory pink rods, factory windage tray 4 bolt main block. With original ram air IV cast iron heads with four exhaust ports. Aprox. 500 hp and tuns of torque. Aluminum intake and 750 holley double pumper and hei electronic ignition. Headers are 1 1/8 pipe from each cylinder to a 3” collector. Racing flowmasters 3” in and 3” out to 2 ½ “ tailpipes. Griffin aluminum radiator. I chose the best Pontiac engine ever made for this project. I didn’t overbuild it so it is totally able to be a daily driver, very dependable. I used a turbo 400 3 speed transmission with a hardened second gear and a stock size convertor built to stall at 2400 with an external cooler. The rear differential is out of a 1979 trans am with disc brakes, 10 bolt posi, 308 gear ratio. Perfect for the street, it spins the tires through first through second and a little into third so I decided not to gear it up. The car has four wheel disc brakes, aftermarket Kenmore air conditioning under dash from dealer when new. Freezing cold with r134a. Manual windows, power locks,power steering , power brakes. Chrome 140 amp alternator, r4 compressor, big 1200 cca battery in trunk. It has a ten inch sub in center of rear deck with an amp and cap. In the trunk. Then four triax. 6” speakers inside with 2 tweeters hidden in headliner. The radio is a touch screen pioneer with hd receiver. It has a power antenna left rear. Cragar ss rims. The only original metal is the doors and roof everything else is new. No rust, it was a California car and had very little rust. The entire interior is new. It has hid headlights and progressing from center to sides led tail lights. This is not some slapped together to sell car. This is a car built by me for me, a 55 yr old ase advanced level master mechanic who can do bodywork as good as anyone I know. I have restored several cars in my life and I own my own repair shop for 28 years autounlimited.net. This car was driven daily and has no issues. I am asking 24,000.00 for the car. I love it, but I am going to sell it, why you ask? Too many toys in the garage and it deserves a loving owner, I have left her alone too long. It is a low mileage car , I think around 76,000 miles original and not tampered with. I will have to update exact mileage when I go read it. It runs great and shifts great, feels good too. All gauges work great, but the tach seems to be inaccurate at times. It is hard starting when warm (have to hold pedal down) then fires right up. I would insist a personal look at any car you are going to buy!!!! Any car !!! I won't tell stories about this one if it is not true. Beautiful paint, new decals and birds, all original body panels and I am pretty sure it has Never Been Hit.... Minor dings and a little rust was repaired by a professional shop, not a cheapy.... This is not a throw together car from a junk yard, it has never been torn apart and retains almost all of its original parts including the premium sound equalizer , but not original radio. Original Wheels , tires look like a ton of tread left. Has an original Build sheet that we found when the seats were redone. Recently redone brakes, new alt., Carpet is a few years old but still looks good. Brand new exhaust about a year ago. Overall a Beautiful car......... Now the bad : Needs a headliner, 2 seat backs, front door handles (inside), A nice clean up on the engine and interior, a/c charged (never used it or fixed it), never looked at radio either (does not work) maybe speakers. Honestly needs a little tlc and a little bit of money to make it sweet.
