This car has a clear Carfax/Autocheck showing zero accidents or issues. This was a garaged car and was very well cared for. Pete 949 2 8 5 – 8 0 1 1 Exterior wise, the paint and body are in excellent condition with a few tiny imperfections from normal use but overall very clean. See my video for a detailed rundown condition wise. This is a California car that lived in our mild temperature environment and spent most of it's time in the garage. Front bumper has some tiny rock nics you can see from up close. Convertible top is in excellent original condition. Has one tiny door ding on hood. Chrome 18” wheels look excellent and and car rides on Michelin tires. Interior wise, the car is in excellent shape. This was a non smoker car and was very well kept. The seats don't have any rips or tears and driver side how power height adjustment. Carpet looks brand new all around including the trunk area. Dash looks excellent and shows the car was carefully used judging by absence of scratches and other signs of hard use. AC blows cold and heater warm Steering wheel looks excellent as well as door panels. Center arm rest is in great shape with no cracks. This was a non smoker car with no odd smells to deal with. Has premium stereo with CD/Satelite Radio/Aux input. Mechanically, the car runs and drives excellent. Engine runs smooth like a engine with 71k miles should. Turbo spools up with no issues and the car really moves out with it's 250 horsepower turbo! Transmission shifts smooth and on point with no funny noises. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport and have about 30 to 40% remaining all around. Brakes are all around 50 to 60% all around. The car handles and drives very well and will make a great car to whoever owns it next! The Firebird was introduced the same year as the automaker's platform-sharing model, the Chevrolet Camaro. This coincided with the release of the 1967 Mercury Cougar, which shared its platform with another pony car, the Ford Mustang. 1979 version of the Firebird The front end was restyled in 1979. It also marked the 10th Anniversary of the Trans Am, and a special anniversary package was made available: silver paint with gray upper paint accents and a silver leather interior. The 10th Anniversary cars also featured a special Firebird hood decal, which extended off of the hood and onto the front fenders. Pontiac produced 7,500 10th Anniversary cars, of which 1,817 were equipped with the Pontiac 400 engine (and coupled with the four-speed Borg Warner Super T-10 transmission). The only option on these cars was the engine (the 400 was not certified for California, nor was cruise control available with it), which dictated the transmission and the gear ratio (3.23 on the 400 cars, 2.73 on the 403 cars). In 1979 Pontiac sold 116,535 Trans Ams, the highest sold in a year. Up until the 1979 models, the performance of 400-equipped Firebirds could still be brought up to near pre-1970 levels by removing the catalytic converter and opening up the block off plate to make the hood scoop functional. Static compression ratios dropped in the early 70s which crippled horsepower and torque output. This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has a 4.9-liter 302 engine.
