Please feel free to check it all out here > www.birdbunker.com It is an information site for all of the Trans Ams that are for sale. Sorry for not being fancy but time is tight for myself to make the website really fancy. All of the information on some of the nicest Trans Ams in the land is contained here. True honesty, no BS. I have given you as much information on the car and the former owners as I can. I think that it is a benefit you know where your car comes from and who owned it. No secrets. No surprises. Check back to this site over the next week or 2 as I add information and improve the site a little bit. You can check out documents, history, stories, pictures and video. If you want to know more, call me or email me. I do not get email on my phone but I do check it a few times per day. Less on the weekends. There is a lot of information here so I hope you have high speed internet. Enjoy…………. 1980 Silver on Blue 301 Automatic Hard Top Asking $17,000 OBO All Reasonable Offers Considered All of my cars are numbers matching with original drive trains. Including this one. Mileage as of this date is original 36,605 Kilometers ( only 22,700 miles ) Purchased from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. The original owner of the car was a Ms. Wendy Knudsen. The car is amazing condition and although you can’t say it is “like new” condition, it is pretty darn close just like the other pristine Trans Ams. There is a small story to this car. A not so happy story that saw me get burnt a little. The car was bought via the internet from an OPP officer ( policeman ) in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Mr. Carmine Cerasuolo. I was told that there were some “very minor” touch ups of the silver paint that needed to be done to the top of the 2 front fenders. I did not see the car first hand and purchased the car based on pictures supplied. Me bad. Me stupid. The first 7 pictures on http://www.birdbunker.com/car-inventory/1980-301-auto-silver-blue/ were what I was presented by the seller. Do you see anything wrong with the paint? No. I didn’t think so either. So I went ahead with the purchase. All of the pictures of both before and after purchase are located here for you to look at. Nothing is hidden. What showed up on the truck from Sault Ste Marie was different than the pics. Too bad right? There was paint faded completely off the top of the 2 front fenders. Down to the black primer \ ecoat. Looked ugly. It had to be fixed. Yes. I was quite pissed off and the seller would not take my calls. Well, the 2 front fenders were repainted in silver to the best that they could. How close is the match? Well… that depends on what angle you look at the car. From most angles in natural light it is impossible to tell that the car was painted. Perfect 100% match. From some other angles, it does stand out. This is true if standing in natural light. It is in natural light that the car looks its very best. I’ve been told that there is nothing you can do. It is what it is. And it’s a shame. Because, you can take this car, and compare it to the other real low milers here and this car is every bit as clean and original as the others. You live and learn. On the other hand, there are some amazing guys out there that could maybe do something and get a match. I don’t know. In my opinion. I was scammed but that is the risk of buying cars based on pictures only. That is why I encourage serious buyers to come and have a look at cars or at least send an appraiser or someone else they trust. When you buy something sight unseen, you are always running a risk. This car originally came with Rally II’s but was changed to the Silver Snowflakes for bling appeal. The argent Snowflakes I put on really increase the bling appeal of this car. This is the lowest selling price car I have. I have a feeling that it might be the last car I have and therefore it may be the car that I keep. If I keep this car, I am just going to leave the silver paint issue alone. It is noticeable in certain situation and sometimes it is not. If I ever get the time, I will try and seek out a miracle god painter of silver to get a match or I just might repaint the whole car. Who knows................... If you know anyone that is an expert is Silver car paint, maybe they can latch the 2 front quarters closer. I might try that route as well. This car is pretty close a new 1980 Trans Am. The interior and glass of this car is impeccable as you can imagine. The plastic on the seat backs needs to be painted though. I have no idea what causes this. It certainly is not sunlight because the car hardly ever is outside. Maybe 3 hours per year for the last 15 years. The rest of the exterior paint is very good. Little issue on the back spoiler. Hey, the car is 34 years old right? Look at it this way. For $17,000, this is a really nice “used car” that even if you just wanted to use it as a daily driver and stand out is a good deal. Car starts, runs and drive like a 22 K mile car should. Nice and tight.Contact InformationCall or email me ( John Shaw ) about the cars. Do not call Tom please. Including this one. Mileage as of this date is original 36,503 Miles. Car was delivered new to Murray Wilson Pontiac Buick in Milton Ontario in October of 1977. The last owner of the car that I am aware on was a Mr. Gary Cain of Listowel Ontario. If you know Gary Cain from that area, please tell him that his Trans Am is still around and better than ever. There seems to have been a lot of nice Trans Ams from the mid-section of Ontario. This is the 2nd Black on Black 1978 T/A that has been converted to a Bandit Clone here in the birdbunker. Both from the Listowel area at one point in their lives. The car was originally a Black on Black 1978 Automatic with the 400 Big Block. It is still this car but has been converted \ upgraded to a Bandit car. I call them a “Bandit Clone” or “Bandit Tribute car. Simply a another gorgeous rich black paint and graphics job. Terry and Ed are amongst the very best at painting and striping Trans Am’s. One of the 3 bandit clones in the birdbunker.com. Only 2 left. Super nice and clean and solid. This car no longer has the 8" rims. It now has just as nice 7" rims. All correct and just as nice. The black paint on the front of this car was not savable. It was just an “old and tired” original paint to be honest with you. This car was, and still is a super clean, super solid car all around. Therefore, the decision was made to paint the car and go all the way and turn into a crowd gathering, thumbs up all the time Bandit clone. 1978 Black on Black Trans Ams are really nice cars. Black on Black 1978 Bandit cars are really really nice cars. Even though you would never want to, you could, could…….. go back to what is was just by removing the bling. But why would you? This and the other Bandit clone available are really super shape and super nice looking cars. So what do you get when you buy this car? a.) you get a complete numbers matching 1978 Black on Black Trans Am. b.) You get a car with not just a nice new paint job... you get a car with an astounding paint job plus all the new SE striping and decals professionally applied. c.) You get fairly new rubber plus 4 perfectly done snowflake rims, plus the correct Stainless caps and snowflake lug nuts. Not the cheap plastic ones that are “off year”. d.) you get the proper golding inside the car. Dash. Steering wheel. Horn, Shifter button. What needs to be done to this car? There might be the odd little thing to fix on this car ( I can’t think of it right now ) but other than that, you clean it up and drive it. Change the spark plus wires for sure. I just never got around to doing that. The yellow wires are not correct. Clone or the real deal, these bandit cars get a lot of attention around town. A lot !! I’m telling you it is a clone because it is a clone, but driving around town being a show off....., everyone will think this is a legit bandit car. You tell them what you want to tell them. You know the old saying...... you can’t build them for what you can buy them is 100% true. Go price out a nice numbers matching regular 78 Black on Black core car to work with and then add all of the above to it. You will see what I mean. Questions?
