1973 Plymouth Duster 340. True H code car, 727 trans, 3.23 gears with sure grip. Numbers matching engine, trans and rear end. Car was restored in 2001, I have photos, but has some paint blemishes etc. Has all its orignal metal and is solid. Heater blower is not working and radio needs to be hooked up, everything else works. Speedometer, temp gauge, amp gauge, and fuel gauge. Lights, wipers etc. Car now has a rechromed from bumper and a refurbished original single snorkel air cleaner that are not shown in the pics. Engine was rebuilt in 2001 and has less that 5k miles on it. It has a purple cam, bored .40, a deep oil pan, hooker headers etc. Runs really well, its cold natured, no choke, but once warmed up its great. NIce 3" exhaust, nice sound but not too loud. Has brand new american racing wheels and BFG tires. If also comes with a set of new tires on Weld wheels. I had recently had the 3:23 gears installed, I have 4:56 gear w/sure grip that can go with the car as well. Car is for sale locally as well. I will answer questions and send pics if needed.

1972 Plymouth Duster (VS29H2B349xxx) factory 340c.i.(H-code) car, pistol grip 4-speed transmission and factory B5 blue paint! The Duster was completely rotisserie restored from top to bottom and looks absolutely incredible! It has the factory performance hood scoops for fresh air, fender tag, black 340 Duster side stripe and black trunk stripe, sharktooth grill, factory AM/FM radio, factory (A88) Duster 340 interior decor group, (G36) dual painted racing mirrors, inside hood release and rallye wheels with Firestone Indy 500 tires. The stunning high gloss GB5 Blue Fire metallic base/clear paint is the correct factory color. The Duster was rotisserie restored in 2009 from top to bottom and I just updated it with a light restoration, which included the engine bay, trunk compartment, show car wet sand/buffing, rallye wheels/tires, clutch and several other items. All of the body numbers match on the radiator support, VIN tag, fender tag and on the speaker shelf/trunk divider area. You must check these numbers to authenticate that it is a real 340 Duster. This is an absolutely beautiful car and one of the nicest factory 340 Dusters you will find with this type of high caliber restoration, correct factory color and a pistol grip 4-speed transmission! When doing a restoration of this caliber takes a lot of time, patience and money to be done correctly. Please understand this is not your average “driver” condition 340 Duster!!! PAINT AND BODYThe body is in excellent shape and the panels are very straight with excellent seems and panel fit. The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1500 and 2000 grit paper to achieve the high caliber ultra shine finish. This long process alone took over 40 hours and the finish shows it! The Dusters sheet metal is believed to be mostly original with only the quarters, trunk extensions and front floor pans being replaced. The trunk floor, rear floor boards, rockers, fenders, hood, doors and frame rails are super clean and original. The Duster was painted about 6 years ago with base coat/clear coat and is in unbelievable condition… it has that deep wet look shine! It was done in a full rotisserie and completely disassembled to a shell as shown in the photos. If you think it looks good in the photos you need to see it in person! The paint in all the door jams, trunk, inner fenders and complete undercarriage looks fantastic. I am very critical on paint and there are only two extremely minor flaws in the paint, both located below the doors where the rocker meets the quarter at the seam. They are a very small blister just starting in the paint very low at the bottom edge (most of all A-body’s have this) and two high spots on the hood by the driver side hood scoop about the size of a penny. These are extremely minor flaws and barely noticeable. The underside of the trunk lid and hood are also in excellent stunning condition. The doors open and close excellent with the ease of a finger and even the door latches and strikers were cleaned and polished. GLASS, CHROME AND TRIMThe glass is in very good condition with only a few very minor marks. The front windshield is new and in excellent shape (PPG). The original Chrysler side and rear glass is in very nice condition and only the driver side door glass has a few scratches. All windows and locks operate as should. The front bumper and rear bumper looks to be rechromed and has excellent chrome. The window trim is very clean and was polished for optimum shine. The trim pieces are some of the nicest I’ve ever seen! INTERIORThe interior was re-done with factory seat covers, carpet, door panels, headliner, trunk divider, speaker shelf, dash pad, woodgrain on complete dash and sill plates. The factory gauge cluster is very nice condition. All factory gauges work and operate correctly. All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, dome light, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers and license plate light. The factory AM/FM radio also works, but AM only (wont switch over to FM). The E-brake, defrosters, heater, fan, horn, speedometer and dimmer switch work as should. DRIVE TRAIN / SUSPENSIONThe 340 makes excellent power, runs very strong through all the gears and sounds great. The original 340 was long gone before I got the car. The 340 was rebuilt to 1970 340 specs and has a steel crank. The 340 gives an excellent range of power and maintains 17lbs of vacuum as should. It has 2.02 “X” heads with the better flowing factory 340 manifolds (1970). I only use the Brad Penn High Performance oil, which was changed and is ready to go! It is one of the best oils on the market and already has the higher Zinc added in for older cars. The 340 has a casting date of 6-2-72 and engine casting # is 2780930-340-5. The 340 is topped of with the correct 340 1972 intake and has a brand new Edelbrock series 600 cfm carb with electric choke. The newer restored Chrysler factory radiator is a 1970 part number 3614025 and is correct for a 340 and also has a fan shroud. It cools excellent even on hotter summer days! The pistol grip 4-speed transmission is a 1968 (PP833 2505 0228 on the ID surface) and is absolutely awesome and a blast to drive! The Duster was a factory 3-speed on the floor (D13) and was upgraded to the 4-speed. We just installed a new McCleod street clutch and pressure plate that is very close to stock and easy for driving to cruises and shows. The rear end is a 8 3/4 with 3.23 posi center and a 489 case number on it. It has newer Mopar Performance stock leaf springs, hangers, bushings and rear shocks. The front suspension was completely done and installed in 2009 when the car was restored and is in great shape. This excellent drive train combo has very good performance and handles great in all conditions whether highway or city driving. This is a very tight and excellent smooth running and driving 340 4-speed Duster! This Duster sets itself apart from others with a factory H-code car and a 4-speed that has been rotisserie restored from top to bottom! Please look at the photos closely to see the amount of detail work that was done! Even the undercarriage of the Duster is unbelievably clean and done right!ADDITIONAL PHOTOSYou can view additional photos on my shutterflyhttps://1972340dustergb5.shutterfly.com/pictures/8 Here are the fender tag numbers:V6X V8X EN2M21 M25 N23 N41 N42 R11GB5 U A88 G11 G36 J52GB5 D2B5 GB5 309 146045E55 D13 VS29 H2B 349xxxI typically restore and finish around 10 Mopars a year and have been working on them for more than 25 years. I do every one as if it were my own to keep. I put a lot of time, effort, pride and money in the cars I offer for sale which is evident when viewing one of my cars compared to others for sale. 1972 Plymouth Duster Clone Back in early October 2014 my neighbors sold their home in Rockton and moved to North Carolina due to a job transfer. Right before they moved they sold me their 1972 Plymouth Duster Clone. The car was originally a Plymouth Valiant but was later professionally restored and converted to a Plymouth Duster. This is a non-numbers matching car. No expense was spared when this car was restored it is in excellent shape inside and out. I agreed to purchase the car the day they were moving. You will see in my pictures the car being loaded onto a Flat Bed and it was shipped to my Automotive Repair Shop where it was completely gone through by my mechanics. In case your interested I am a small car dealer near Rockford Illinois and love old muscle cars. My interests lean towards Old Pontiac Muscle cars of which I have several. With that being said I am not all that familiar with Mopar and do not own any in my collection other than this Duster. This car was stored in my neighbors garage for the last 13 years. It has not been on the road for 8 years and they originally purchased it 2002. You can view the picture of the Illinois temporary license tag that expired in 2008. This car has never been out in the snow or rain and was my neighbors baby. The car received a complete mechanical evaluation by my shop. All fluids were changed, it was tuned up, it has full tank of fresh premium gas and it is in the process of getting a new Mopar battery installed. According to my certified mechanic no expense was spared when it came to the previous engine rebuild. The previous owner told my neighbor they spent over $7000 on the motor and that was over 15 years ago. I have a list of what was done to the motor so the potential new owner has a better understanding of just how powerful this motor now is! I can fax it to all interested parties. The body on this car is in excellent shape. Except for a few blisters on the flat back hood scoop I would give it and 8 although I am no expert. The interior is in good shape overall with no tears or rips in the seats. The black old school carpet is in near perfect shape and their is matching Duster floor mats to finish off the precise detail of this car. I believe the radio is an aftermarket Pioneer or Sony and it does work. This car is fun to drive and sounds fantastic. It is a real eye catcher when driving down the road. It has been meticulously detailed and is all ready to go. We are a licensed shipper and can assist in getting your new car home. Additionally we welcome all personal visits and mechanical inspections prior to bidding or during the auction. All qualified sales at the conclusion of the auction are final. Keep in mind this car is 42 years old. I try and describe these old cars as best I can. I would love to add this car to my collection but I just do not have the room. Following the design changes on the Valiant models, the Duster also received a new hood, grille, front fenders, bumpers, and taillights for 1973. The taillights on previous years mounted from the inside and had a flush appearance. Starting in 1973, the taillights were mounted from the outside and were trimmed in chrome. These remained unchanged through 1976.
