Up for sale is my 1954 Plymouth. This car has a 217ci (3.6L) flathead straight-six engine and is backed by a 3-speed column-shift manual transmission. The engine was rebuilt by Schedler Engine in Fresno, CA sometime in '85. The car has a rebuilt carburetor, fresh plugs, wires, and a recent oil/filter change with less than 100 miles on it. New oil pan/pushrod cover gaskets ensure the car is leak-free. It also has the original AM radio, although the speaker needs to be replaced and the dash lights replaced as well since the bulbs are burnt out. All electrical works, save for the fuel gauge which needs a fuel sender (replacements run around $30). It also has a new fuel-pump, fuel filter and new radiator hoses and coolant. Carb will need adjustment for higher altitude if the purchaser stays in the hi-desert area. The car runs excellent, however, the fuel tank has a clog and I don't have the time to correct the issue as I'll be changing duty stations soon. The car will need to be tow-dollied until this minor issue is corrected. This car is all-original, and has plates from '63. It still has the original oil-bath air filter, and is still running the 6v positive-ground system. Since it is a registered antique, it does not need an inspection/smog. It needs a few minor things, which I'll list below, but is otherwise an excellent driver. You won't find a nicer '50s cruiser for the price. Call, or text if I don't pick up. Not interested in any trades whatsoever. Sale is as-is. Plates are good through Nov 2015. Needs: -Headliner, and one of the exterior door handles repaired. Door locks need rekeying. -Paint. There is only minor surface-rust in a few areas, no cancerous rust. Previous owner removed the hood ornament, and the area that mounted it will need filling. -Two pieces of exterior chrome, the rest is included and in good condition. Also includes 4 DeSoto hubcaps from the same era. -Fuel sender. A universal MoPar replacement runs around $30. Vehicle is for sale locally on the Marine base in Twentynine Palms, and I can be reached by cell at 252-622-5047 for any questions.
