1971 Plymouth Cuda Convertible Original 383 4spd numbers matching car One of 33 Cuda convertibles produced with the rare 4spd manual transmission. Link for more pics https://www.flickr.com/gp/131023070@N06/384ZdG This is a one owner car that would have stayed that way if the owner had not unfortunately passed away. This is a rare opportunity to own a real no excuses 71 Cuda convertible with a Big Block engine and a 4spd trans with pistol Grip shifter. Yes, 32 others were produced but I can not count 5 that still exist with their original drivetrains and a buildsheet. This car not only has its complete original numbers matching body and drivetrain, it came from the factory optioned just as you see it here. There are zero added options to this car because the original owner ordered it exactly the way he wanted it in the first place. Some of these options include: FE5 Bright Red/Black Leather buckets, Black Billboard Stripes, Painted grill and racing mirrors, Road lamps, Rally Dash, Rim Blow......... Documentation includes: Original Fender Tag Buildsheet Original Window Sticker Application for original title Original purchase agreement Oil change records Owners Manual in original pouch with all factory inserts Braking distance sheet Maintenance Receipts Condition: This is an original car that has not ever been completely disassembled and restored. It still has its character and patina. This is the condition that I like to find a car in. It is impossible to know what a fully restored car was like before the resto. A full resto wipes away the history of the car. A car like this shows that it was a loved car and has never been abused and stripped out or worse. The original owner cleaned the car up by having it repainted the factory color and detailing the engine compartment. The quality of the detailing is not national show level. There are imperfections. For example, the car was Z barted when new, which helped keep this car from rusting. Some of the coating was left in the engine compartment when it was painted. Someone may look at it and think that it is just factory sealer which is supposed to be painted over but it is not. The air cleaner was painted gloss black instead of wrinkle finish. small ding on tip of fender. The paint on the body is what I would describe as good enough for local shows and above driver condition but not national show quality. All the sheet metal is original except for partial rear quarters. The fenders do not appear to have ever been removed. The original trunk floor is clean. The original Leather interior has no split seams and looks fantastic. The original Dash pad has no cracks and looks amazing. All the glass and top are in excellent condition. The bottom of the car was undercoated at the factory and shows no signs of rust anywhere. 1970 Cuda Convertible ORIGINAL V code 440-6 engine with factory N96 SHAKER HOOD This is a rare opportunity to own one of the 12 original 440-6 Barrel Cuda convertibles produced in 1970 with an auto trans. Total production was 29 cars, 12 autos and 17 4spds. For more pics click here https://www.flickr.com/photos/131023070@N06/sets/72157650981233348/ Options: This is a loaded car with the most desirable options available, including the Rare Shaker Hood, Power Windows, Rally dash, 8 Track Radio, Rim Blow wheel, 6 way seat, Hockey Stick Stripe, PS, PB and the list goes on. Colors: Restored in the correct and original color combo of Vitamin C Orange/ White Interior/Black Top All Numbers Matching Car: The drive train and Body are original and born with this car. The following numbers match: Engine Trans Dash VIN Tag Fender Tag Cowl Stamp Rad support Stamp Door Sticker Body Restoration: The car was restored by Roger Gibson who has the best reputation for restoring Mopars in the world. No corners were cut and the best original and date coded NOS parts were used in the restoration. The car was restored in 1990 and looks like it was restored yesterday. The paint is flawless and shows zero signs of age. The paint work is second to none. For example: When some restorers paint a trunk floor, the paint may look great until you look past the shock towers and way back in the hidden areas. Those areas sometimes look unfinished and flat. That is not the case here. The paint work is exceptional on every inch of this car. The bottom of the car was painted as nice as the top. This car was undercoated from the factory so the under coating was then reapplied over the beautiful Vit C paint and correct primer over spray like the factory did. The cost of a Gibson restoration today using the NOS parts that were used on this car would cost close to $200k. for more pics click here https://www.flickr.com/photos/131023070@N06/sets/72157650981233348/ Drive Train and suspension Restoration: The original numbers matching drive train was rebuilt to factory specs using OEM parts. Then it was detailed with the correct parts like: hoses, clamps, regulator, altenator, fasteners, brackets, hold downs, wire looms, etc. The repro battery is a prop for these photos. A new auto parts store battery is included with the car. The exhaust consists of original NOS mufflers, resonators and pipes. Tires are correct reproduction GoodYear Polyglass GTs. Ride is handled by NOS Oriflow date code correct shocks. They shocks are few and far between. Collectors have paid thousands of dollars for shocks like these. Interior Restoration: The dash pad is perfect, the rally dash cluster looks like new without a scratch and no fading. The heater control panel lettering is like new. The seats are recovered in Legendary seat covers, the top is perfect and the original grain. The door panels were replaced with the best reproduction panels available at the time. They are not as nice as the reproductions that are available today. The seat belts have the original date coded labels and are the very rare deluxe seat belts with white bands around the heads and very rare clear clips that hold the tight and loose ends of the belts together. They come with a light mounted on the dash which reminds the driver to fasten seat belts. Special rear Seat belt holders allow the seat belts to be clipped in place when not in use. You will rarely see a stock set up as nice and complete as this one.
