1999 Plymouth Prowler - The Plymouth Prowler, later the Chrysler Prowler, is a retro-styled production car manufactured and marketed in 1997 and 1999-2002 by DaimlerChrysler, based on the 1993 concept car of the same  name. The Prowler was offered in a single generation in a front-engine, rear-drive, rear-transmission configuration — with an overall production of 11,700. The design of the Prowler was said to have been inspired after Chrysler  engineers were given free rein to create whatever they wanted in a "hot rod" or "sportster" type vehicle. One of the most striking design features of the Prowler are the open, Indy racer-style front wheels. The Prowler featured a  powertrain from Chrysler's LH-cars, a 24-valve, 3.5 L Chrysler SOHC V6 engine producing 214 hp (160 kW; 217 PS) at 5850 rpm. For the 1999 model year, the engine was replaced with a more powerful, aluminum-block, 253 hp (189 kW; 257 PS)  at 6400 rpm version of the engine. Both engines were coupled to a four-speed Autostick automatic transmission. The transmission was located at the rear of the vehicle and joined to the engine by a torque tube that rotated at engine  speed, an arrangement similar to that used by the C5 Corvette, Porsche 944, and Alfa Romeo 75, and helped to facilitate a desirable 50-50 front-rear weight distribution. The Prowler was the first rear-wheel drive Plymouth since the  1989 Plymouth Gran Fury and would stand as the last Plymouth model with that layout. While criticized for featuring a V6 only, Chrysler's High Output 3.5 had a horsepower rating similar to (or higher than) the company's Magnum V8s  of that era. While not making nearly as much torque as a V8, Prowler's light weight translated into impressive off-the-line acceleration.  Being in the Classic Car Industry allows me to have several interactions each day with collectors and enthusiasts. At least once a week I get to hear someone say, "...If I had any idea my (fill in blank) (Shelby, Hemi, Porsche, etc) was going to be worth this much, I would NEVER have sold it ..." The vehicles that have sky-rocketed in value over the last 40-60 years are original condition vehicles that were not mass produced and were rarely driven by their owners. With a total production of only 11,702 vehicles build over a 5 year run, these low-mileage Prowlers are definitely a wise choice to add to any collection. If you want to get even more specific, a grand total of only 1,591 Prowlers recieved the purple paint (1997 & 1999 only)  found on the example offered here today. So while you may find it exiting to wake up and see your stock porfolio has randomly plummeted 25% in a few hours, we think the MUCH smarter investment is rare, investment-grade future classics. What other investment can you name that allows for the thrill of top-down driving, makes you the envy of all the neighbors, and appreciates with each passing day of your ownership? These Prowlers have consistently held there value and  will continue to go no where but up! The 4 major valuation guides currently show this vehicle between $30,100 and $42,600. Don't be that guy/gal having to explain to your children and grandchildren why you passed on this beauty for only $30k! Additional features and options include; 3.5L V8, Auto/Stick Transmission, Power Steering & Brakes, Power Windows/Locks/Mirrors, Cold A/C, SRS Airbags, ABS Brakes, Pioneer™ DEH-P80MP Radio (factory radio included), CD Changer, Center Console Storage, Cruise Control, Optima™ Battery, Tinted Windows, Tilt Steering, Owners Manuals, 17" & 20" Chrome Wheels, and Thick Goodyear™ Eagle Tires! 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner:  The Plymouth Road Runner was a performance car built by the Plymouth division of the Chrysler Corporation in the United States between 1968 and 1980. In 1968, the first muscle cars were, in the  opinion of many, moving away from their roots as relatively cheap, fast cars as they gained options. Although Plymouth already had a performance car in the GTX, designers decided to go back to the drawing board and reincarnate the  original muscle car concept. Plymouth wanted a car able to run 14-second times in the quarter mile (402 m) and sell for less than $3000. Both goals were met, and the low-cost muscle car hit the street. The success of the Road Runner  would far outpace the upscale and lower volume GTX, with which it was often confused. The Plymouth Road Runner was named Motor Trend "Car of the Year" for 1969 with sales topping 84,000 that year. If your collection lacks an immaculate, frame-off restored Plymouth with a 472 Hemi, look no further! In Season II of Discovery Channel's Wrecks to Riches series, Barry White and his team spared no expense building this amazing Super Muscle Car 1969 Road Runner. The  Road Runner was then featured at SEMA and a link to a video of Barry discussing this creation is available upon request. This Mopar later made its way to it's current caretaker in Texas where it has been stored in a climate controlled garage and has seen less than 200 miles of asphalt since total completion. Being a speed-freak and a little bit of a super-perfectionist, this Texas owner decided to upgrade the Road Runner above and beyond Barry's specs. The engine was removed and given to David Nickens of Nickens Bros Racing. When asked about his motivation for rebuilding a new engine with less than 500 miles, the owner answered it best himself, "...Nickens is a two time world champ running hemi engines sponsored by  Chrysler so I let him do his thing on the engine. I had David Nickens rebuild the 472 factory Hemi engine making sure it was top notch and all parts inside were the best..." And with an open checkbook, the best of everything was  exactly what the Road Runner received. A dyno run after the rebuild resulted in a horsepower increase from 540 to just under 600hp. The TCI™ 727 Automatic transmission was also reworked to make sure it could handle the powerful engine. Finally, the  front end was changed out to a much more robust Magnumforce™ set-up. Additional options and features of this build include; Edelbrock™ Fuel System, MSD™ Alternator/Starter/Distributor, Inland Empire™ Drive Shaft, Triple Flow Aluminum Radiator, Power Steering, Baer™ 4 Wheel Power Disc Brakes w/ Cross-Drilled & Slotted Rotors, QA1™ Coil Over Shocks, Magnaflow™ Exhaust, Optima™ Red Top Battery, Tilt Steering, Tinted Windows, Katzkin™ Full Leather Interior, B&M™ Shifter, Autometer™ Sport-Comp Gauges, Custom Autosound™ AM/FM/MPX Receiver/CD Controller, SRRC™ Magnum 5 Wheels (18"-front, 19"-rear), & New Proxes™ Tires! Priced well below what is would cost you to build its twin, you are looking at the deal of the year for a very unique and extremely well-built Mopar!
