You're looking at a solid work truck. I've owned this truck since 2012, and it's only been used to haul materials and plowed the small amount of snow we got last year. I have since replaced it with a crew cab truck, as I've now got two kids, one born this year, so this one has to go. I'll start with the bad, trying to call out all things in the most honest way I can. This isn't a truck that you will just buy and drive 100k miles, you will need to do some work along the way. It's never let me down, and its been a great for its purpose, but it's got its gremlins: The engine has low miles, but its sat a lot of its lifeIt makes a noise every now and then, and has the whole time I've owned it. I've had a couple people try to diagnose what it is, but nobody has been able to nail it down. It's some sort of rattle, like you would expect from a heat shield. I don't think it's something that simple, but have yet to find the source. There have been times where it takes some time to build oil pressure. This issue seemed to be worse when I had synthetic oil in it, so have since used traditional with slightly heavier weight, and no problems at all sinceI had the oil pan pulled, and there was some sludge that they were able to take out, likely from sitting so muchIt's got a roughly 2" lift kitThe front control arms are rusted, and if you plan to be hard on it, I would consider replacing themI have new shocks for the front, but never put them on, as I couldn't get the lower bolts out. It would just take someone motivated to do soIt doesn't have catalytic convertersThe previous owner cut them off and put a hacked together exhaust on it, which I completely redid. I didn't go to the expense of putting cat's back on thoughThe body is rusted in all the usual places for this generation truckbottom of doorsrocker panelsboth rear fendersrear bumperThe rear passenger door handle is missing something, I took it apart and wasn't whiling to spend the time to figure it out, so currently still not on the doorTailgate is bent up, but still works fineCurrently has a check engine light Now the good, this list is probably incomplete, but suffice it to say that I dumped WAY more money into this truck than I should have. The parts alone are easily worth more than the asking price. Brakes system revamped as in COMPLETELY replaced, not just pads but every component (all trucks from this generation are known for a lot of rust, and brakes are something you don't want to skimp on)Master CylinderAll hard and soft linesFront calipersRear CylindersFront Rotors (cryo hardened power slot rotors - best you can buy) - you have to pull front axels/wheel bears/etc to get these offRear DrumsFront pads are hawk super performance towing ceramic (the best you can buy)Rear PadsFront axle rebuilt <1k miles ago (this is big money job, many hours of labor and a lot of money in parts)New seals (requires you pull the whole axle apart)New Timken wheel bearings (best you can buy)New MOOG cold forged super duty u-joints (all joints, in the axes, both drive shafts, all of them - again top of the line parts)Synthetic amsoil fluidTransfer case and rear axle also got amsoil full synthetic fluidNew battery last year, old one quitNew running boards
