Up for sale is a 1999 Ford F-250 7.3L automatic 2WD 4 door short bed. The good - This truck has been well taken care of with less than 240,000 miles. Cloth seats in great shape with no tears or stains. Automatic with power locks and windows, cruise control and rear sliding glass window. I depended on it to make a living so I never went cheap on repairs or maintenance. Always used Shell Rotella T 15W-40 and brand name filters with Lucas oil additive. Always changed oil every 5,000 miles. You can check the oil after 2,000 miles and it will still be as clean as it was when you changed it, the engine is that tight! It is set up for the road trip as it gets around 20 MPG when not towing at 75 MPH and when I was towing a trailer with about 10,000 lbs. on it I still got around 12 MPG at 75 MPH. It has been outfitted with a lot of aftermarket options that would cost well over $8,000 if purchased not including installation labor. The bad – The only thing that I know of that doesn’t work properly is the heat. It comes up to temperature but on cold days the cab just don’t heat up like it should. I read that it could be a blend door problem so I ordered one ($179). It is not easy to replace and it was getting warm weather so I didn’t install it but it comes with the truck. I have also read that it could be a water pump issue. All I know is that the heater core has plenty of circulation and that the truck heats up fine. The ugly – Well it is a 1999 truck that has spent its life on the road so it’s not perfect. I would say it is in great shape. The clear coat is coming off and there are some dings here and there but it still looks great going down the road! Interior is in excellent shape and everything works as it should. Up for sale is a real decent 1954 Ford F100 P.U. This truck is unique in as much as it is a Custom Cab with original factory automatic transmission, factory turn signals, factory radio, factory dome light, and factory heater. This truck has very solid floors, but has some cab corner (rust and dent) damage and a small amount of rust in the front fenders, rear fenders at the running boards and some small dings and dents. This truck has been sprayed flat black over the original paint which was bad anyway. This truck has, (already installed) new gas tank, new battery tray, new 12V battery, and all new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, and hoses. Included in this sale, (uninstalled) are all new glass and windshield, all new rubber seals and door gaskets, all new window felt channels, , and other misc. small parts. It has a good running 390 Ford engine and automatic transmission (not original). This truck drives well, but will still need work. The 16" wheels will removed and 8"x15" Keystone wheels will be installed before time of pick up. Always interested in early Fords and early Ford projects. This truck can be inspected in Athens Tn. (half way between Chattanooga and Knoxville Tn.) More pictures on request.
