This triple-black 1970 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight coupe is a head turner in all crowds with big block power, original flavor, and custom touches. You just don't see Oldsmobile coupes in this amazing condition anymore. The original paint was swapped for a mirror black shine. Those who know paint recognize that you don't go for black unless every panel is straight, and every gap is uniform. This is a very large car, and it probably took over a gallon of urethane to cover every square inch of it, (and even more clear for as deep a finish as it has) but the work is professional and the results are spectacular. All the chrome and stainless appears to be original, and should give you an idea of how wonderfully well-preserved this car truly is. From the massive chrome bumpers, to the black vinyl roof, this car absolutely looks like a top-of-the-line luxury car. Of course, the Dayton wire wheels give this one the perfect look for Saturday night cruising. But for those who want to keep this closer to stock, the original hubcaps are also included with the car. Inside is pure luxury. The black velour is a nice way to upgrade over vinyl seating without losing the mean machine attitude. But you didn't have to worry about sticking to the seats on a hot day anyway, thanks to the cold-blowing air conditioning. This black beauty has power windows - a good thing because this coupe is so large, it takes a couple of moves to get across to the other side and roll down all the windows for the cool pillarless hardtop look. In fact, the driver has to put very little effort into looking cool in this Olds. Going for a spin means adjusting the tilt and telescoping three-spoke steering wheel, and allowing the power steering to let you pilot with fingertip ease. Plus, you can set the power seat to the perfect position and listen to your favorite tunes on the original AM/FM stereo. But comfort does not mean tame, and the extra set of gauges for temperature, oil, and battery are a hint that there is a lot of power underneath the long hood. If 455 cubic-inches weren't already enough, this numbers-matching V8 was rebuilt 1,000 miles ago with a .030 bore. It was also given a W-30 camshaft (you know, the one that helped make the Olds 442 legendary). Even with all these performance upgrades, it still doesn't loose its luxury feel. After all, these were called Rocket V8s, not only because of the power, but also they gave a smooth and steady delivery. These are called Holiday Coupes because they are comfortable cruising machines. This one is equipped with the GM Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic, and power brakes with disc in the front, which give it a long-haul kind of comfort that goes well beyond the pillowy seats. This is the kind of coupe that you hardly see anymore in an unparalleled kind of quality condition (the included restoration photos and receipts prove it). Who knew one could really stand out from the crowd at such an affordable price? 1970 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight for Sale 1970 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight for Sale Stock # 2991-CHA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1. This car is the epitome of what a perfect sunny day cruiser is. Convertible top? Check. Flashy good looks? Check. Smooth running V8? Check. Room for you and five of your friends? Check. What else could you ask for? You have to admit, this car looks awesome. Red can make any car look good, but the big body on this Ninety Eight doesn't need any help. That vivid red paint only emphasizes how incredibly cool this car is. It looks good on those flat panels and presents a beautiful gloss under our showroom lights. Accented with classic trim lining on the top of the rear fenders and chrome bumpers at both ends, the styling of this car is simply unique and you will surely stand out from the crowd. You'll definitely be doing a lot of driving with the top down in this one, but should you need to put the powered white vinyl top up you can be sure it will fit tightly and still maintain a great look. And that great look is highlighted by very stylistic hubcaps, wrapped in wide white wall tires. Open the extensive straight sheet metal doors and have a seat on the comfortable, power bench seat that is covered in taut white vinyl. The bench is trimmed in bright chrome and features an elegant pleated pattern outlined by white piping. The door panels are another elegant feature of the interior with luxurious stitching, and stainless trim, that houses the door handle and switches for the power windows. The rear bench seat matches the front with the same pleating, and centers a stainless dcor piece with the Oldsmobile logo. The dash is straight forward, but hosts an AM/FM/CD head unit hidden in the glove box, a clock mounted in the center, warning lamps that monitor engine vitals, and a speedometer within easy view of the driver. Finishing things off for the classy look is the cool looking steering wheel that is finished with bright horn buttons. Powering this big cruiser is a 394 cubic inch Oldsmobile Skyrocket V8. That big motor is capable of 330 horsepower, which is plenty to get this convertible cruising down the strip comfortably. The engine bay looks to remain stock with nothing fancy going on, but everything appears there to keep the 394 running reliably. Power is fed to an automatic transmission that provides smooth shifts, while the exhaust gasses are expelled through a dual exhaust system with glasspack mufflers to produce a nice throaty note. There isn't any fancy show bits featured underneath, but all of the hardware is present to keep those long cruises to the beach comfortable. With power brakes and power steering you'll be able to enjoy driving this Oldsmobile wherever you take it. Certain cars are fun to take to certain places, this '63 Olds Ninety Eight is fun to take everywhere! Whether it's to the beach, the cruise-in, drive-in, the grocery store or the bank...you'll love firing up that big V8, cranking up your favorite tunes and taking off on cruise. Big, effortless V8 up front, a soft, pillowy ride, and room enough for six in full-sized comfort all add up to a lot of fun for the money. This particular Olds has a long history of being protected and well-cared-for, starting with the first owner keeping it garaged whenever he wasn't out enjoying the sun. It then spent about 25 years indoors where it was carefully preserved before being disinterred recently and recommissioned. As a result, the code 50 Bamboo paint looks great, with a proper shine for 1970 and no signs of major bodywork in its past. The sheetmetal underneath, all 19 feet of it, looks fantastic and for a big car, this one has great proportions that mask its true size. Typoical trouble spots like the area above the fender skirts, and in the rockers, appear to be in very good condition and panel fit is very good, especially for a convertible. Likewise, the chrome and stainless brightwork is original to the car and while there are a few signs of age that are just inescapable, it shows rather well and certainly fits with the character and condition of the rest of the car. There's some patina to the code 924 Gold upholstery, but nothing that would warrant replacement, and if you're into survivors, you're going to be impressed. The pillow-tufted vinyl seats are in exceptionally good condition with only minor signs of wear and no cracking or split seams, which is really impressive. Age has altered the color of a few pieces just a little bit, but we wouldn't think of replacing anything. The carpets are original and look good, too. The only areas that show their true age might be the door panels and the steering wheel, which shows some delamination that is probably inevitable in a convertible, but those are very small demerits in a very impressive survivor. The instrument panel is definitely a product of 1970 and options include power windows and factory A/C, which was rare in a convertible, even a top-of-the-line Olds. The AM/FM/cassette stereo was added at some point in its past and still sounds good, and there's a black power convertible top that stows under a matching tan vinyl boot. And as you'd expect, the trunk is giant and includes a full-sized spare with jack assembly. Oldsmobile's biggest engine, a Rocket 455 cubic inch V8, provides the kind of low-RPM power that moves this big car without seeming to work hard. The engine bay is exceptionally clean, more evidence that it hasn't been in the snow or other inclement weather, and it's completely stock. Turn the key and it fires up with an idle so smooth that you almost have to double-check to be sure it's running. It has obviously been serviced and includes things like new belts and hoses, a fresh alternator, and some new wiring, all of which were intended to make it a reliable cruiser once again. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission shifts as it should and the ride of this big luxury yacht is exactly as smooth and soft as you'd expect. A recent muffler gives it hushed performance and the recent 215/70/15 whitewall radials certainly help with the smooth ride. A very cool survivor that's also a lot of fun to drive, this Olds is a real bargain at only $1000 per foot. Accented with classic trim lining on the top of the rear fenders and chrome bumpers at both ends, the styling of this car is simply unique and you will surely stand out from the crowd. You\'ll definitely be doing a lot of driving with the top down in this one, but should you need to put the powered white vinyl top up you can be sure it will fit tightly and still maintain a great look. The rear bench seat matches the front with the same pleating, and centers a stainless d%26Atilde;%26copy;cor piece with the Oldsmobile logo. There isn\'t any fancy show bits featured underneath, but all of the hardware is present to keep those long cruises to the beach comfortable. With power brakes and power steering you\'ll be able to enjoy driving this Oldsmobile wherever you take it. Certain cars are fun to take to certain places, this \'63 Olds Ninety Eight is fun to take everywhere! Whether it\'s to the beach, the cruise-in, drive-in, the grocery store or the bank...you\'ll love firing up that big V8, cranking up your favorite tunes and taking off on cruise. Call today!
