1984 Olds Toronado needs engine top end noise diagnosed, sounds like all the lifters are tapping. Possibly may need oil pump or maybe oil pickup screen is clogged up if I had to guess. Starts right up every time but if left run for 10 mins or more oil pressure light comes on. Engine sounds good other than lifter noise, no bottom end sounds. Also could use a paint job, the original paint has worn thin in several places with a little surface rust on the roof and some of the black paint is crazed. Needs the plastic bumper fillers too. The body sheet metal is in great shape, no rust to speak off except the lower doors as shown in the pictures. Looks worse than it is, there is an area on the lower edge of the driver door that is rusted through. It is an easy repair with flat sheet steel.. The car still wears its original paint so there is nothing covered up. The bumpers, grille and all the chrome looks really good. The interior is very clean, no rips or tears in the seats, no cracks in armrests or dash pad. Worn minimally as you would expect a car with 80k miles. The ashtray has never been used, apparently was never smoked in. Also pictured is the original paperwork from when the car was new including the build sheet, owners manual and dealers worksheet. I will require a $250 deposit via paypal within 24 hrs. of auction ending with balance to be paid in cash upon pickup within 7 days. V8 307 (5.0 L) 4BBL engine, automatic transmission, power windows, power steering, tilt wheel, [note: Cruise control does not work - see conditions below], Wire hubcaps, original air conditioning. Non-smoker driven its entire life. This car was owned by my grandfather, who kept service records (included) and stored it in his suburban Missouri garage most days. As a vehicle of this age, obviously there are a couple issues, but be aware that it was reconditioned to successfully be driven 800+ miles from Missouri to its current location... The interior is in spectacular condition for its age. Gray velour seats, very comfortable, steering column / dash are not cracked or faded, dash looks great. Documented replacement of headliner, quarter trim panels, and sun-visors in 2003. Note issues below regarding speedometer and dash clock. New components: new radiator, new alternator, new Firestone whitewall tires.Fluids and lubrication have been kept up. Known age conditions: Body:* Driver side-view mirror is missing its adjustment mechanism - mirror itself is siliconed in place.* Paint is overall good. ONE OWNER 1978 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS CALASIS Up for sale by a private seller is a beautiful classic, 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calasis. The history behind the car is what makes it so unique. It was the very first car sold by a new Oldsmobile dealership which had just opened in Havre de Grace, MD. The owner took meticulous records (which are included with the vehicle) including every tank of gas which he used. Nineteen years later the owner returned to the dealership and traded the car in. The owner of the dealership kept the car in his shop up until the dealership closed its doors in 2009. Then in 2010 he spent a little over $5,000 to have certain areas of the car redone. His idea was to keep the car for sentimental reasons. But once all of the restoration work was performed, the car was rarely driven and now he has decided to sell it. Listed below are some of items on the car which have been refinished. You can also view the original window sticker photo to see the factory options. In 2010 the Olds was repainted, including hand painted pin striping. All new exterior trim was replaced, new brakes, vinyl top was replaced, new tires, and a tune up. The car starts and drives great, all of the gauges work including the AM/FM/Cassette player. All of the floors appear solid and the car has never been in any major accidents. The only item which may need attention is the engine. It has developed either an exhaust leak or valve tap. It has not been diagnosed. 1970 was the height of performance for American Muscle Cars. To keep up in the horsepower arms-race, General Motors dropped the cap on engine size in 1970 and Oldsmobile responded by making the Olds 455 V8 the standard 4-4-2 engine. Output was 365 hp, with 500 ft./ lbs. of torque. A “rocket ship” was launched. In recognition of the 1970 revised body style and increased performance, the Olds 4-4-2 was awarded Pace Car duties at the Indianapolis 500 race in 1970. Motor Trend praised the 4-4-2, stating that "it's probably the most identifiable super car in the GM house” and those seeking to experience the ultimate in performance from Oldsmobile could order a "W-Machine" version of the 4-4-2, dubbed the W-30 package. The 4-4-2 W-30 added a fiberglass hood (option W25) with functional air scoops and low-restriction air cleaner, aluminum intake manifold, special camshaft, cylinder heads, distributor, and carburetor that increased the horsepower to 370hp. Oldsmobile’s “King of the Hill”, the 1970 442 W30 is one of the quickest production Olds ever built. Being offered for sale is a Sherwood Green 1970 Olds 442 W-30 “Holiday Hardtop Coupe”, with the W-35 rear spoiler. This car is nothing less then exquisite. Beautifully restored, very original, with complete owner history from dealership delivery, this 442 W30 is a “show stopper.” One of 1,032 4-Speed “Holiday Hardtop Coupe” W-30s made in 1970, this car has approximately 87,000 miles and received a complete body-on restoration from nose to tail, with absolute attention paid to detail and originality. The body is laser straight, with all joints and body panel seams lining up perfectly. The Sherwood Green exterior finish is flawless, with correct white striping. The bumpers have been properly restored and present in excellent condition. All the original parts on this restoration have been bead blasted and repainted to factory specs. Where parts needed to be replaced, only NOS or the highest quality replacement parts were used. The 455 ci, 370hp “F” head engine, with correct ram induction system and fiberglass hood, was completely disassembled and rebuilt (rings, bearings, factory spec’d cam) re-assembled and painted to factory finish. The block is a non-numbers matching piece. All other engine components are original factory numbered parts. The original red plastic inner fenders are in excellent condition. The car has a new correct battery and cables. The front end suspension was completely dissembled, all parts bead blasted and repainted to factory finish. New control arm bushings, ball joints, correct spiral shocks, tie-rod ends, sway bar bushings, rubber bumpers, rotors and brakes. The front calipers and steering box were rebuilt. The interior was completely restored, with re-upholstered front bucket seats and rear seats, new head liner, new carpet, new center console shifter boots ( upper and lower), and re-conditioned Hurst shifter. The glove box shifter console, imitation wood inlays, dash vinyl, carpeted door panels and seat belts are in excellent original condition, as is the original interior chrome and seat chrome. The trunk surface was prepped, repainted and clear coated with correct color trunk paint. The car has a new correct Goodyear raised white letter spare tire mounted on correct re-conditioned / painted SS II wheel, with all chrome trim. The trunk has a new correct fabric mat, with an optional rubber “OLDSMOBILE” trunk mat laid over the fabric mat, a new jack, lug wrench and spare tire mounting hardware. The underbody floor pan and frame present in excellent, as new condition. A clearly exceptional 1970 Olds 442 W30, this car appears on the cover of Muscle Car Magazine under the title “Kings of Woodward Ave.” and must be seen in person to be appreciated for its outstanding quality. Needs body and mechanical work. Planned on fixing it up but have not had the time. Last driven and passed Maryland Emissions testing in 2005. Has been sitting in driveway covered with tarp since 2007. Needs at least a battery and new brake lines. Will start with new battery but cannot be driven without brakes. Some rusting has taken place and there are dents that need to be addressed. Will need new paint job as well as interior work on front driver seat and ceiling fabric needs to be replaced. Have 2 of the original hub caps, both in good condition (not in photos). The car was owned by my dad who was disabled and passed away in 1999. It was then driven by my son for a few years until he bought his own vehicle. Engine only has 62,204 miles on it and had great V8 pickup. It has not been driven since 2007 but I got it started recently by temporarily hooking up a friends new battery and priming the carb. It was run for a good 25 minutes where I found that the brakes did not work although the emergency brake was fine. The transmission worked but the A/C needed help. My guess is that the fr-eon leaked out after a period of time. Now, I am intending to move shortly and need to sell the car. This is a great deal for someone who wants to take on a moderate restoration and who likes cars with real pick-up. I can provide some maintenance records from 1986 through 2003. 1970 Olds Cutlass Supreme with 442 upgrades. This is a clone and not a real 442 though it is a very good example of the real thing. Driven only 600 miles since total restoration. It retains it's original numbers matching 350 motor and turbo hydramatic transmission that were both rebuilt at time on restoration. The ac needs charging. It is still the original R12 system and has not been converted. Amfm radio does not work, but there is a 10 disc CD/radio installed in the glove box. Car is a show winner every time and is as clean on the bottom and engine as it is on the top side. Is has a White top which also is in excellent condition. I do not have time to drive this car and have only put about 100 miles on it since I bought it. Hate to see it just sitting in the garage. 1994 Cutlass Convertible – Bright Aqua Metallic exterior with graphite color interior. It has the optional bigger 3.4 liter engine with 210 Horsepower. 155,417 miles. Dealer serviced by 1st owner up to 149,746 miles. I am the second owner of this car. It has been garage kept since new by the previous owner and myself. No rust. Great Carfax report. Carfax rated it $930 over book value. I have owned it for eight years and only put about 5,000 miles on it. This was my toy and I did not get to drive it very much. It was the previous owner’s daily driver and he took very good care of the car. I have moved to a house without a garage so it is time to let it go. It is in a family member’s garage for now. Very original. Everything works including the steering wheel controls for the stereo and climate control. Interior is in great shape. Starts right up and runs great. Drives very smooth. Since I have owned the car, I have put in a new optima battery, new interior light, ceramic brake pads, and had new mufflers installed when I bought it. I have also changed the oil regularly. The passenger side of the car has 3 very small dents the size of a nickel or quarter (I think you can see them in the picture) and some door marks that have been touched up by the prior owner. The top is original and works great. Has the full headliner and the glass rear window has a defogger. I have the top boot, wireless remote for doors, and owner’s manuals. I also have the dealer brochure. The top is showing some age around the edges. A/C works great and is very cold. Let me know if you need more information.
