Runs GREAT! Clean Title, no leins. Like new tires with awesome tread. Airplane throttle style shifter (automatic) No rust. Underside is clean. Good transmission and breaks. The bad: Aircon doesn't blow cold. The body has been banged up (see pictures) Inerior of driver's side door needs repair but functional. The leather seats are cracked a couple tears but still functional. The interior roof fabric is worse for wear. Surprisingly, all the lights and signals work but there is some damage to one of the plastic lenses on the right rear. The paint is rough, especially on the top of the trunk, hood and roof. The driver side interior door panel has some damage. Damage to the left-front quarterpanel & headlampe (but the light still works) Damage to the right-rear lense (but the light works). The hood opening mechanism doesn't work and the hood won't stay up on its own. The radio turns on but doesn't tune.

This car has been in the family since it was bought off the showroom floor at the former Glassman Oldsmobile. Car was well maintained during its active years and has been kept indoors for most of its retired years. It is driven occasionally, primarily during to and from cruise ins. It was repainted the original Viking blue color in about 1988. Most of the car is original other than replaced radiator, vinyl roof, interior carpet and front seat bottom covers in mid 1990's. Radio and cigarette lighter need repair. Car has rust around rear wheel wells as shown in pictures. The driver's seat has rip, otherwise interior is in good shape. The floors, frame and trunk are all in good shape. The top needs a tune up as it will go down on its own but needs some assistance coming up. Original numbers matching Rocket 350 and drive train. For 1956, styling highlights included a new split grille in front and revised taillights and deck along with revised side chroming. Horsepower for the 324 Rocket V8 increased to 230 for 88s and 240 for Super 88s. A new four-speed Jetaway Hydra-Matic was introduced this year to replace the original Hydra-Matic transmission that Olds had used since 1940. The new Jetaway Hydra-Matic retained the four forward speeds and fluid coupling unit, but added a new "Park" position to the shift quadrant and no longer required band adjustment as a specified routine maintenance. Inside, an oval speedometer replaced the round unit and a new foot-operated parking brake replaced the previous T-handle unit. UP for auction is a all original 1956 olds super 88 coupe it is in amazing condition start and runs as it should I would drive anywhere it has all fresh fluids in the car. ACTUAL MILE CAR LOW LOW LOW MILES 27998 Lots of documentation that goes with this car I would trade or entertain offers. Everything works but it has a small crack in pass front window and it does not have door lock keys that go with it. Car is located in INDIANAPOLIS I can pickle up from airport if anyone wants to come and inspect it. Turquoise on white Original interior and sheet metal I believe the car was painted in the early 70s back to the original color it shines amazingly will win shows.
