Unrestored with one re-paint in the mid 80's which looks excellent! Original stripes, jams, and trunk have never been touched. 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible - J2 Do to my heath I must stop work on this project. I am 80 year old and recovering from cancer. This car has been in dry storage for the past 20 some years. It is a rare convertible in as much as it is a straight & rust free car. The body is solid, the floor boards are solid and the trunk is beautiful & solid. There is a brand new share tire in trunk. There is a 371 engine & Jetaway hydro for this car and presently it is on the shop floor getting ready to go to machine shop for freshing up or a overhauling. It may not be the original engine & it may run fine the way it is, but it’s an Olds 371. The condition is unknown. The engine turns over and is painted blue, leading me to believe that it was overhauled and the shop painted it blue not original gold. There is a J2 setup that goes with the car (see picture). The car has Power brake & power steering. Several of the parts this car needs are packed separately. At one time the right door was damaged so they put an 88 door & trim on it. I have purchased a Super 88 door and it is packed in a separate crate. I have been purchasing the missing parts & there is still a very few needed as I see it. I need to get rid of this car quick, make me an offer. Here is a great restoration project for any shop or car lover's dream. I have a 1966 Oldsmobile '98 with the Super Rocket V8 engine and automatic transmission for sale. The car started as a project car and all of the interior and exterior were broken down to reupholster and paint but the car owner fell on hard times and could not pay for the work done. Unfortunately rust has started on the metal body after the paint was removed. You can see there were actually some body work started but never completed. So for a restorer, all of the trim break down has been done with all the parts still with the car. Also, the rear seat is completely finished and looks absolutely beautiful. As far as the trim, all of the pieces are shown in the picture, along with all of the fasteners bagged and labeled as to the section. These are all original part and the same goes for the engine. I know the car sat for close to two years but I drove the car 33 miles to my house. The engine sounded strong but I did notice that the car vibrated after 60 MPH and the drum brakes seemed worn or out of adjustment, but the never failed. Please ask me for the video taken during the drive so you can see and hear the car cruising. The car does not have a battery, but can use mine for test drives. Even after sitting it started on the second try. Power steering worked as well as having new oil and good coolant levels. The previous owner drove the car regularly before starting the restoration.I'm asking 1000.00 OBO (Or Best Offer) since the car runs and has all of the original parts.
