I'm the second owner of this car, I originally got it from CarMax about 10 yrs ago. I got it with around 60k miles on it, it's got around 200k now and it still runs great. There's no timing belt, it's a timing chain. I changed the oil religiously every 3-5k miles, I also changed it if it sat for a while without me driving it. I did most of the easy maintenance that I'm capable of and comfortable doing, such as belts, spark plugs, air filter, cabin air filter, ignition coils, battery replacement, valve cover gasket, break pads, hoses, flushing the radiator (even though it didn't really need it), upgraded to Sony Xplod 200 Watt CD player head unit with aux input and MP3 (on a data cd) playing capability, upgraded all the speakers (x2 Sony Xplod 6.5", and x2 Sony Xplod 6x9") and ran 12awg speaker wire for the speakers, amp and sub myself (however the amp and sub have already been removed from the vehicle and sold separately). I am actually a computer repair and programming guy whose always had a desire to learn how cars work and how to repair them.... Computers are (usually) so much cleaner and way more simple to fix!The crank case gasket and AC repairs were the only things I've ever had to get work done on, except for tires. All that work was done at a shop by a professional mechanic as I have no clue what to do when it comes to that kind of stuff and I want it done properly and professionally as I have tried to keep the car as mechanically sound as possible. Since this was the first car I ever purchased, I always tried to take the best care of it to make it lived as long as possible. The only other issues that are still outstanding on this vehicle are:-The AC does not work and probably needs needs refilled again. There might be a leak but I am unsure about anything related to the AC system.-The check engine light is on, and the error code is P0420. From what I have learned, this is caused by the O2 sensors before and after the catalytic converter (which has been removed) and replaced with a straight pipe, and the O2 sensors before and after the catalytic converter are showing the same values to the car's computer, which normally would mean the catalytic converter is not operating correctly, which triggers the check engine light error code P0420, but in this case there isn't a catalytic converter altering the 02 in the exhaust fumes so it doesn't actually mean anything is wrong with the car.. it just means the emissions have a higher level of 02 than it would if a catalytic converter was there. The catalytic converter was removed because here in TN we do not have to pass emissions tests, and the catalytic converter can get clogged and block the exhaust coming out which builds up pressure and could damage the engine. So I just totally removed it instead of having to worry about whether or not its going bad, possibly damaging the engine, and needs replacement. Also, it is a really expensive part to replace.-About 3 years ago, the car was vandalized while it was parked on the street. Some kids took a crowbar and busted 4 of the windows of my car and several other cars in the neighborhood that were parked on the street. The front windshield, back windshield, and the two driver side door windows were broken. I was able to get the two driver side door windows, and back windshield at pullapart, and easily installed the door windows, but I had no clue how or even the tools to do the front and back windshields, so I got a windshield repair company to sell me the front windshield and put both in properly and made sure there were no leaks and everything was done properly. I have also removed most of the interior of the car (seats, carpet, even the most of the plastic trim), and vacuumed and cleaned the entire inside cabin many times to try and remove the glass shards from every nook and cranny in the car, and have successfully done so.-Then, the car was in a wreck in May 2014. A girl driving a very large 80's style Ford or Chevy truck never even slightly slowed down behind me and rear ended me on I275 while I was completely stopped for another wreck in front of me (it was sprinkling rain and there was a LOT of traffic backed up in all lanes because of this wreck, but she wasn't paying any attention to what was going on in front of her (she blamed it on her brakes not working, but they seemed to work fine after she took off and ran from the police).. On top of all that, she had no license, no insurance, and it wasn't even her truck. She begged me over and over to not report the accident, because she "didn't want to go to jail" (she really didn't seem intoxicated in anyway as far as I could tell, so I have no idea why she was so afraid of going to jail.. the officer even said he was just going to give her a ticket and send her on her way). Well, the police were already there for the other accident and when they came to write the report about our wreck, she jumped in her 'built like a tank' truck that, after the wreck, only had a broken headlight, and took off down the shoulder weaving dangerously through tons of traffic. The police seemed afraid to chase after her, so they just let her go and wrote a hit and run report, and said they might catch her eventually but it was too much trouble to do anything about it right away.... Riiiight.... Gee, thanks for taking your public servant job so seriously guys, I don't know what we would do without you guys out there protecting the public. Now I have no car that can be legally driven (because of the crushed driver side tail light) and tons of medical bills from the injuries the wreck caused to my back..So... back to my car. I do not think there is damage to the frame, and it can be driven home. That's actually how I got it home after the wreck--I had to drive about 15 miles home, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary while driving it. I just had to remove the bumper cover so that it didn't drag on the ground or the tires on the way home. I have also obtained most of the parts needed to make the repairs from pull-a-part, except for the back driver side quarter panel, because I need a battery powered sawzall to remove one from a car at pull-a-part, and I don't really know how to install it into my car properly anyway, so I wouldn't be exactly sure where to start and what to remove from the car from pullapart. The quarter panel would cost $99.95 from pull-a-part and they have at least 2 compatible cars in Knoxville right now (a 2000, and a 2001).I already have the rest of the required parts for the complete repair of the vehicle as far as I know and they will be included with the sale of the vehicle. These parts include the trunk lid, bumper, bumper cover, and the driver side tail light (which even has the all light bulbs in it and they all work).Every extra part or upgrade mentioned in this ad will be included in the purchase of this vehicle (Amp wiring, 12awg speaker wire, the Sony speakers and cd player/head unit, trunk lid, tail light, and the bumper cover). The only two things not included that were previously mentioned are the amp and sub, since they've already been removed and sold, but the wiring is still in the car, and ready to hook up, but the inline fuse has been removed so nothing will short out or spark or anything like that. The car gets extremely great gas mileage, which is the reason I had purchased this car in the first place, as I had a long commute to work 6 days a week. Every once in a while, especially on road trips, I would use Lucas fuel injector cleaner with the octane booster and get even better mileage. On average I will get 26-32 mpg. It's rated for 23 city, 32 highway, and 26 combined.*It's a 4-Door Sedan, White Exterior, Beige Interior (not leather)*5-Speed Manual Transmission*12ft^3 Luggage Volume*88ft^3 Passenger Volume*Comes with the original jack and doughnut emergency tireThe Kelley Blue Book value is between $1,200-$1,800. I will accept the best offer I receive. I no longer need this car nor do I have the space to keep it and time to work on it as a side project anymore. Thanks for viewing my listing! Happy Bidding!
