I am selling this because I purchased a 2010 Prius, not for the gas savings (I drive about 12,500 miles a year), but rather for the technology. I am the second owner of this Maxima. The vehicle was originally purchased from Empire Nissan, in Redlands, CA, in February, 2002, with all service previous to my purchase being performed at a Nissan dealership. I purchased this from a doctor in Redlands, CA, in January, 2007, when it had 82,357 miles on it. He sold it because his son was going to do a mission overseas for two years, so he was going to use his son's car, since he didn't need to have three cars. I have used premium (91 octane) fuel exclusively since the day of first purchase (see above for pictures of the first and last receipts), and have had this maintained by a Nissan mechanic who lives here in Carlsbad. I have all service and parts receipts, which I can show, but not give you for privacy reasons. The owners manual, navigation manual, warranty booklet, 2 key, 2 key FOBs, and other documentation, other than the window sticker, is included. The car has 180,564 miles on it as of November 8th, which is the last date that I used it for daily driving. I work from my house, and this is an average of 12,540 miles a year since purchase. I have filled it up (and fully topped it off) with premium fuel. Here is my driving breakdown: Total miles on 11/08/2014: 180,558 Miles at purchase on 1/13/2007: 82,357 Total miles driven since purchase: 98,201 Total time: 7 years, 9 months, 26 days (rounded to 10 months) 94 total months Average miles per month: 1,045 Average miles per year: 12,540 The car is fully cleaned, vacuumed, shampooed, and waxed, both inside, outside, and in the engine compartment. Notable standard features for this model include: very rare 6 speed manual transmission, heated leather power driver and passenger seats, Bose audio with CD changer, navigation, sunroof (which I never used), and Xenon HID headlights. The car also has heated rearview mirrors, and a heated steering wheel, but I swapped the steering wheel for a non-heated version, due to wear on the top heating element. The upgrades that I have done to the car, primarily for enhanced safety, are: - Upgraded front brake rotors, front brake calipers, and front brake pads to the larger gen 6 Maxima brakes and rotors (12.6" on the gen 6, vs 11" on the standard gen 5.5 front rotor). These don't show up very well in daylight, but they are much brighter and whiter than the stock bulbs. - "Spray" vs "squirt windshield washers (from the gen 6 Maxima) and hybrid/more aerodynamic wiper blades - Matching full-size 17" alloy rim, with Yokohama Avid V4S spare tire in trunk, vs small, heavy, and ineffective doughnut emergency use tire - HeatShield windshield cover - Cargo net This car is my third Maxima (first was a white 1990, then a white 1996, then this silver 2002): safe, with front and side airbags, can go fast if you want it to, gets great gas mileage when you drive it appropriately, and flexible: it can be a very comfortable 5 person sedan, or with the rear seats down, can fit a piece of 10 foot PVC pipe from Home Depot. On the freeway from Irvine to Carlsbad I can get between 30 and 33 miles per gallon at less than 65mph, and if you exclusively drive on the freeway on a full tank it's around 27 to 29. The majority of my trips are around town, and I didn't distinguish between city and freeway driving: http://www.fuelly.com/car/nissan/maxima/2002/wea/281573 This car was *never* in an accident, and has some normal rock chips in the front bumper and hood, a scratch on the top front bumper, above the license plate, a scuff on the passenger bumper bottom side, some scuffs on the rear bumper, and a small scratch on the right passenger side, by the fuel door/rear fender. And yes, you can see that I even cleaned inside the fuel door. All of these scratches were caused by the original owner, not me. The interior is in great condition, with just one crack on the left side of the driver seat, and loose stitching on the front right side of the passenger seat. Nobody ever sat in the rear seats, and there is a little tear in the rubber weather sealing on the left rear passenger door compartment. All windows are original Nissan windows, shown in the pictures above. Typical for this model, three of the navigation/air conditioning buttons are loose and/or broken off, so when I rarely (never) use the air conditioning, I change the settings with a pin, or an Apple iPhone SIM ejector tool. There are cosmetic "titanium" covers over the door handles, door arm rest, and center console, and some of the covering is worn off on the driver door, and there are some scratches on the rear left interior passenger door handle cover. Cosmetically I'd say the car is in "very good" condition, and mechanically probably "good" condition. It is over 12 years old, after all. I have the clean title in hand, smog check passed on November 8th, with smog check details uploaded to the smog check verification web site on November 9th, 2014. Recent service history: - Coil 4 and throttle plate were replaced in September 2014, at 178k miles. - Brakes were done in December 2013, at 169k miles. - Tires were changed by Big O in October 2013, at 168k miles. - Radiator was replaced in April, 2013, at 162k miles. - Both HID bulbs were replaced in March, 2013, at 161k miles. - Clutch was replaced in February 2013, at 160k miles. - Oil was always changed at Big O in Carlsbad, with the next service scheduled in December, at 182,350 miles.
