Up for sale is a Classic 1961 Nash Metropolitan Convertible. Up until 2014, this car was used for parades and Sunday Drives. It has not been in the rain for over 22 years. The previous owner took meticulous care of this car. The interior is in excellent condition, there is trunk access from the inside as well as from the outside. The chrome is in good condition, minimal pitting, scratches and rust. The convertible top open, closes and stores very easily. There is a bonnet cover to cover over the top, when it is down. It comes with the original jack and lug wrench. The odometer show 24,673 miles. I believe these are original but can not verify that. The ID tag is tarnished and reads what I believe to be Body 35948 Model 561 Trim T 971 Paint P914 -- P919 The Chassis Serial NO. E 85545 All 4 hub caps are in very good condition. With a few touch ups in the paint and chrome, this would be a Great Show Car, or with a tune up, it is ready for the Summer Sun and Parades. The Metropolitans were sold by Nash, Hudson, and AMC Dealers in the USA and Canada from 1954 to 1962. In 1961 only 969 Metropolitans were sold in the USA and Canada, so this small production makes it a rare care, especially in a True Convertible model. 1962 Nash Metropolitanmost mechanical work has been done Front suspension fully rebuilt.new bushings in rear suspensionnew wheel bearings all aroundnew clutchnew brake master cylindernew stainless steel brake linesnew fuel sending unitnew gaskets in transmission new gaskets in enginenew electronic ignition and flame thrower coil (original points are included)new Weber 34 ICH carb (comes with original carb and oil bath air cleaner) Weather stripping isn't great but I never drove it in the rain so it didn't bother me. Was repainted years ago and some paint is chipping. Major issue is both rockers need replaced since they are pretty rusted.also the carb needs rejected to a smaller jet there is a stumble under load. Jet kits are availiable for the weber carb. Only reason for selling is because my kids in car seats don't fit in the back seat.
