Up for sale is a Classic 1961 Nash Metropolitan Convertible. Up until 2014, this car was used for parades and Sunday Drives. It has not been in the rain for over 22 years. The previous owner took meticulous care of this car. The interior is in excellent condition, there is trunk access from the inside as well as from the outside. The chrome is in good condition, minimal pitting, scratches and rust. The convertible top open, closes and stores very easily. There is a bonnet cover to cover over the top, when it is down. It comes with the original jack and lug wrench. The odometer show 24,673 miles. I believe these are original but can not verify that. The ID tag is tarnished and reads what I believe to be Body 35948 Model 561 Trim T 971 Paint P914 -- P919 The Chassis Serial NO. E 85545 All 4 hub caps are in very good condition. With a few touch ups in the paint and chrome, this would be a Great Show Car, or with a tune up, it is ready for the Summer Sun and Parades. All the Metropolitans made, were built by the Austin Company in England, later know as British Leyland Motor Corp. . .. now known as Jaguar Cars Inc. The Metropolitans were sold by Nash, Hudson, and AMC Dealers in the USA and Canada from 1954 to 1962. In 1961 only 969 Metropolitans were sold in the USA and Canada, so this small production makes it a rare care, especially in a True Convertible model.
