1958 RAMBLER AMERICAN 2 DOOR SEDAN FOR PARTS OR RESTORATION OVERALL A PRETTY DECENT BODY HAS SOME RUST HOLES IN THE ROCKERS. A FEW PINHOLES AT THE TOP OF THE FRONT FENDERS (NEAR WINDSHIELD) MINOR DENTS DINGS AND SCRAPES THROUGHOUT. FLOORS ARE ROTTEN, BUT THE SUB STRUCTURE / SUBFRAME LOOKS TO BE QUITE SOLID OVERALL. THIS HAD MANY COATS OF PAINT FADING AND PEELING ETC, SO I PAINTED IT WITH SOME LEFT OVER RATTLE CANS TO MAKE IT EASIER TO SEE THE CONDITION. THE ENGINE WAS STUCK BUT I HAVE BEEN SOAKING IT AND HITTING THE STARTER EVERYDAY AND NOW IT TURNS A LITTLE A TIME - IT HAS MADE A COMPLETE REVOLUTION, BUT NOT ALL AT ONE TIME YET. IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (THE FLASHOMATIC!) WHICH IS WHY I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PULL START IT. THE INTERIOR IS COMPLETE -SEATS WERE RECOVERED AT ONE TIME - BUT WILL NEED IT AGAIN. DOOR PANELS ARE IN THE TRUNK. THIS CAR COULD MAKE A FUN RATROD WITH A LITTLE MONEY AND EFFORT, OR IT COULD BE RESTORED WITH A LOT MORE MONEY AND EFFORT. OR POSSIBLY PUT THE SHELL ON TOP OF MODERN RUNNING GEAR. LOOK AT MANY CLOSEUP PHOTOS HERE: http://boneyardbrothers.com/main.php/v/RAMBLER CAR IS LOCATED IN MINNESOTA (56379) BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING UP THE CAR. YOU MUST ARRANGE YOUR OWN SHIPPING. I am offering this very rare Nash Ambassador Custom Cabriolet for auction. I bought this car 30 miles from where it was produced in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This car had never left the neighborhood until I purchased it. This car runs and drives beautifully. The engine has seven main bearings which creates a very balanced and smooth running engine. Does not leak oil and does not smoke. Brand new wide white wall tires with less than 200 miles on them. This is one of 1,000 ever produced. It is believed that there are less than 200 to exist today. I can only find one for sale in the country which is priced at $150,000. This car is priced well below one third of his asking price. If you can find another one let me know and I will buy it. Car is being sold locally and I reserve the right to end the auction any time I wish. Car has a clear Wisconsin title. Car does have overdrive. Serious bidders only please.
